I was planning it for a bit later in the Month!

I'm grateful for the short chapters, they make it much easier to read.
I don't love all the listing of things though... I think the author is trying to paint a detailed picture, but it doesn't work all that well for me, I'll see how it continues!

I'm finding I have the listen to the audiobook slowly or else I'm lost on what it being described

I downloaded the kindle book to make it easier during those parts haha. had to take a little break because of school though. going to read a little during my commute today!

Overall I do like this, but I think The Nightingale did a better job in getting the atmosphere right and immersing you in the dread of war. This one reads at times more like a generic war book (which is not my preference). But I am attached to the characters, which is good.

It wasn't a bad book at all, but it wasn't my favourite ever... I feel like the author wanted you to know how clever he was by using rare words, long sentences, a split timeline that was not necessary and a lot of science musings...

:) it wasn't bad! If you liked the begininning I 'd say it's worth to try again!

In a mining town in Germany, Werner Pfennig, an orphan, grows up with his younger sister, enchanted by a crude radio they find that brings them news and stories from places they have never seen or imagined. Werner becomes an expert at building and fixing these crucial new instruments and is enlisted to use his talent to track down the resistance. Deftly interweaving the lives of Marie-Laure and Werner, Doerr illuminates the ways, against all odds, people try to be good to one another.
From the highly acclaimed, multiple award-winning Anthony Doerr, the stunningly beautiful instant New York Times bestseller about a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths collide in occupied France as both try to survive the devastation of World War II.
