Hi y'all! I'm going to have spotty internet for the first half of May unfortunately, but so far my planned list is:
Hey Rosina, I'd love to read The rose code with you
its been on my tbr for so long, I need a reason to finally pick it up
its been on my tbr for so long, I need a reason to finally pick it up
ok great...when do you want to start and what pace....I'll look at the chapters later on and see how long they are...I'm good to start any time.
Hafsah There are 85 chapters & an epilogue.
For me a fast pace is 100 pages a day....Balancing work and social time I think I could manage 50-60 pages a day. My kindle edition has 623 pages ....so that would be about 10 days.
Would that work for you?
I will go and request a BR thread be setup and we can update with details later. Maybe others might want to join.
Hafsah wrote: "10 days is fine, I'm flexible with what dates u wanna start too just lmk"Ok thanks Hafsah.....
First two weeks of May would work for me...
May 1 - Prologue to end of Chapter 6
May 2 - Chapter 7 to end of Chapter 13
May 3 - 14 to end of 20
May 4 - 21 to end of 27
May 5 - 28 to end of 33
May 6 - 34 to end of 41
May 7 - 42 to end of 52
May 8 - 53 to end of 60
May 9 - 61 to end of 71
May 10 - 72 to end of 80
May 11 - 81 to end
Here is what I would like to read over the next couple of months. I know I won't get to read everything with having a full time job and school as well but, I would really like to do a buddy read with someone who is interested reading any of these as well.

If you'd like a little more time in between, thats ok too.
Yep! I can do that for sure. I was looking at trying to do it by chapters (which would come out to 7 chapters a day) to make it easier to track but, it looks like it might be close to a 100 pages at times. Would that be manageable for you?
I came up with this Does this work?
May 12 Ch 1 to end of 8 - 104 pages
May 13 Ch 9 to end of 18 - 102 pages
May 14 Ch 19 to end of 30 - 101 pages
May 15 Ch 31 to end of 42 - 101 pages
May 16 Ch 43 to end of 54 - 95 pages
May 17 Ch 55 to end of 67 - 105 pages
May 18 Ch 68 to end of 82 - 100 pages
May 19 Ch 83 to end - 86 pages

Sure. I think I can do that. It might be challenging some days but, I think I can manage it!

Amber
is so good....I read it years ago.....I have the 2nd & 3rd but will probably need to read it again...
Amber I'm interested in BR the priory of the orange tree with you, its one big book so I'm thinking the beginning of june??
Rosina wrote: "Amber

Hafsah wrote: "Amber I'm interested in BR the priory of the orange tree with you, its one big book so I'm thinking the beginning of june??"Absolutely! And yes, it is ver intimidating. I was getting all my books around and ready to go for taking notes as I read them and was very surprised to find that it was only 5 pages longer than Crescent City. It looks massive compared together! What time period works best for you? Would you like to read in 2 weeks or over the whole month?

Hi
That is another one I have been meaning to read but the size is intimidating....If you do in June I would be interested in joining as well...
Rosina wrote: "Amber wrote: "Hafsah wrote: "Amber I'm interested in BR the priory of the orange tree with you, its one big book so I'm thinking the beginning of june??"Absolutely! And yes, it is ver intimidatin..."
Absolutely! We can all tackle it together! We will definitely be starting June 1st. Im ok with trying to read it in 2 weeks but, I want to make sure that Hafsah would also be ok with that as well or if she needs more time. Does that work for you or would you like more time?
I think 2 weeks would be ok....I find with longer books if it goes longer I get distracted by other reads and I lose the continuity of the story....
Rosina wrote: "I think 2 weeks would be ok....I find with longer books if it goes longer I get distracted by other reads and I lose the continuity of the story...."I am the same way so I totally understand. I get frustrated at life for getting in the way of my reading all too often. Lol! I have too many unfinished books because of this very reason.

. They are all great reads! I hope you enjoy them!
Rosina and Hafsah, this is what I came up with for the Priory of the Orange Tree.....June 1st: Chapter 1-6 (77 pgs)
June 2nd: Chapter 7-12 (67 pgs)
June 3rd: Chapter 13-18 (71 pgs)
June 4th: Chapter 19-24 (58 pgs)
June 5th: Chapter 25-30 (59 pgs)
June 6th: Chapter 31-36 (60 pgs)
June 7th: Chapter 37-42 (62 pgs)
June 8th: Chapter 43-48 (50 pgs)
June 9th: Chapter 49-54 (67pgs)
June 10th: Chapter 55-60 (74 pgs)
June 11th: Chapter 61-66 (81 pgs)
June 12th: Chapter 67-End (77 pgs)
Does that work for you guys? If it does, who do I talk to about starting a thread for this buddy read? I haven't ever had to ask for that before.
sure that works for meheres the link
you ask mina to set up a thread and tell her who is reading and what the schedule is...

@Amber
Don't worry girl, I gotcha 😂 I'm looking through teams because unread messages annoy me, but also to see if there's a thread that people want but still haven't told me about in the nomination thread. I'm going to write it down in my spreadsheet for June, and will use your schedule when the time comes, thanks for making it 😄

SPRING FLING STARTS MAY 1STI'm so happy so see you all talking and coordinating plans! You are all off to a great start. I do have a couple of notes/best practices before we kick off.
1. To see everything in the thread, use your internet browser not the app. The phone app cuts off comments.
2. Aless has set up discord channels for each team for your use. If you're not a discord fan, I recommend creating an Instagram chat group with all of your teammates for faster communication.
https://discord.com/invite/3hBXPyt2Fa
3. Buddy and Group Reads:
Like last year, we are expecting participation beyond "the book was good" for Buddy and Group reads to count. Mina puts a lot of time into creating the threads.
With that being said, anyone can participate in an open Buddy Read without being added as a participant. If there is no meaningful participation, it will not count.
If your buddy is not participating, that's okay, it happens. Continue to comment in the Buddy Read thread. We will count it for the participating member.
Lastly, I'm so happy that you all are requesting BRs to be made—but please don't expect them to be instantaneous. Please allow up to three days for the threads to be created.
If you have any questions, please continue to address them in the Sign Up thread—it's easier for us to catch that way.
Thank you all for joining us for Spring Fling—I hope you all have a lot of fun!
Hi hope all are having an enjoyable weekend. Tomorrow starts Spring Fling.
What book are you going to start with?
I will be doing a BR of
with Hafsah. Looking forward to this one. Been sitting on my TBR for a bit. I will also be reading the BOM
and will try to stick with that schedile. Mid month i have another 3 month challenge at NBRC starting and books here can work for that challenge.

Sweet! Thank you so much!
Hi everyone, a little late to the introductions party! I don't have a set list fully planned out quite yet but I'm starting out with this! I believe it would fall under the own voices category, if I'm wrong about that feel free to let me know (I'm new at this!).

I was feeling bad for being MIA this week but, now I see everyone else must be busy reading too! I haven't gotten to read as much as I like this week because it's been a stressful week and I just ended up falling asleep as soon as I sat down. I plan to make up for it this weekend though after I finish the last bit of homework I have! I went book shopping for my Mother's Day gift to myself and came home with.....
and
I am super excited for all of them but decided to read Book Lovers this weekend as I have been waiting for it to come out.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I finished my first book and logged into the spreadsheet.
I noticed that there are some errors in formulas on the Points tab...
the formaulas in cells B16. C1, D16 are incorrect.....Im not sure about the formula in F16 and by reasoning the # in G16 is incorrect but will correct once the other formulas are corrected....
I’m finally able to post this 😅

We try to post updates each Sunday of this challenge for teams and solo participants. It might not be Sunday yet in some parts of the world but this is for consistency purposes.
TEAMS:
Full of Secrets: 79
We're a Mouse, Duh!: 23
The Plastics: 66
You Go Glen Coco: 29
Personally Victimized by Regina George: 35
You Can't Sit With Us!
Laurel: 9
Rosky: 4
Allyson: 10
It's our first weekly update! Woohoo!
If you're feeling a little behind, that's okay! In the past it's not always the groups that jump ahead in the beginning that win in the end. Points can change dramatically from week to week—the goal is to keep reading, keep posting updates, and rack up those bonus points!
Four housekeeping notes as we roll past our first week:
1. Please plan for your Buddy Reads to start at least 3 days after you request them.
2. Don't forget to put the prompt category and number in your completion post. It helps us out a lot!
3. If you are participating in a Group or Buddy Read, don't forget to post in that thread!
4. Have a question? Ask in the sign-up thread (because other folks might have the same question)...and check to see if anyone else has asked the question before :)
Happy Spring Fling
