She was taken to a foster home where she was then adopted by a family, she was abused by the father, and the mother never knew that he was doing it. She was verbally and mentally abused by the adopted dad. The dad abused her, and she received Severe Anxiety, Mild Depression, and thoughts of self-harm. She has tried to commit suicide once by ODing. But her mother stopped her in time. She never met Tyler until he arrived, they both looked at their birth records and it showed that they were twins. Backstory:

A/N: This might be long. I want to warn you, I'm spoilering it ALL because of serious trigger warnings. These include: Detailed account of abuse ; Mentions of cigarettes ; Detailed accounts of rape ; Self-Harm ; Attempted suicide ; Intrusive thoughts ; Body horror/dysmorphia ; Alcohol abuse ; specific medicine names. Sorry it's a lot. As I always say: I make characters with intense histories because I need to vent. Right now, Ace is basically a life-saver. I'm not gonna go into detail, it's not anyone else's business, but don't tell me I don't understand. I do. And I warned you, so read at your own discretion.

(view spoiler)[ Ace had a really rough childhood. When he was born, his father had been a fucking asshole. He was a severe alcoholic and incredibly abusive. Ace was the youngest, and the lest kid to be born. His mother passed a few years later due to severe marital abuse. After that, his father turned all the rage onto him and his siblings, who in turn took it out on Ace. He was far too young to understand anything that was happening to him. Ace found release when his father offered him a cigar, which he'd accidentally burned himself with. Ace found a way out, albeit negative, but at least he was alive, right? He drank what was given, all to numb his pain. The more he drank, the less the broken bones hurt. The less he hurt. Of course, this substance abuse didn't last long. Over the course of two years, new pain sprung up that he couldn't get out. - If you are reading this to verify my character, this part includes the rape. Detailed. So please don't trigger yourself.(view spoiler)[Liam crept into his brother's room, a bottle in one hand, and a knife in the other. The older boy leapt onto Ace, pinning him down and stripping him of his clothes.
Ace thought it was a game, but fear quickly engulfed him when a hand clamped around his throat. He thrashed around, gasping weakly. Tears filled his eyes, and he clawed desperately at his brothers hands. (IM WARNING YOU)(view spoiler)[ Then came something worse. Ace felt something sharp trail down the center of his chest, pressing harder the closer it came to his stomach. Little beads of blood collected on this new cut. He pushed at Liam's chest, silently begging it would end soon. It didn't. He felt the sharp knife pull away from him, only to come down again. Sharp and quick slashed were let loose upon his exposed stomach and legs, biting into his skin. A part of him enjoyed the pain, but another told him it would only get worse. And it did. After what seemed like forever, Ace heard Liam throw the knife away, his free hand gliding over Ace's lacerations, spreading smears of hot blood over his body. Further down those fiery fingers trailed, sliding over his dick, and further still. He tried to scream, but the hand around his throat prevented anything but a small squeak to escape. Something circled his anus, something warm and full of wrongness. His brother violated him like an animal, no respect for Ace at all. Ace didn't look at himself the same way anymore. He felt like someone different. His body was.. wrong. Those cuts scabbed, then they scarred, and those scars raised and made his skin bumpy and ugly. He was too skinny. He was too fat. He ate too much. He drank too much. Ace hated his hair, so he cut it off, putting it into a man-bun. Ace hated his body, so he ruined it. Cut after cut, burn after burn, drug after drug after drug. It was never enough. Nothing got rid of this pain. Sertraline, Benadryll, Dopamine, Diphenhydramine. He tried everything. Even suicide.

If he didn't die, what was he? God. By now, Ace was 13, and he got accepted into some prestigious school. Both brothers had moved away, and he would too. Away from the abuse, the pain, the worthlessness. In the outside world, he had time to reflect. Ace realized there must be a reason he was still alive, right? He was god. He couldn't die. This brought him joy. He loved being the center of attention, especially at a new job he'd picked up. Stripping. 15 and a selfish little bastard, he thought he had it all. The drugs, the attention, the money, the reputation, it was great. Yeah fucking right. He got fired, they realized he was underage, who knew?! Backstory: Not much of Rue's early is important, she grew up in an average household with average parents and average capabilities. She'd been just.. average. By the time she would graduate from 5th grade, she hadn't been extraordinary. Of course, her parents had to have gotten into a car accident. They were arguing, both drunken from a late night party. Her father messaged her, letting her know they would be late. Rue didn't mind, she liked being able to stay up and read. They never got home that night. She had no other family, not that she could stay with. Her grandmother, brain ruined with the holes it created. Dementia. Her grandfather had passed. She had no aunt, no uncle. No one. So she was sent to an adoption center.

The staff were so cruel. She heard them whispering about how she'd never get adopted. It was always, "Poor Lorelei, she's such a bookworm. She'll never find a family." No pity for her. Soon they told her she needed to stop with all her reading. Then the orphans she lived with said it too. Everyone told her to get her pale nose from the book and go see the sun. Then they took her books. Those little rotten kids took her books. They ripped the pages apart, flushing them down the drains as she begged them to stop. Her heart ached. Those were the only books she had and staff refused to buy her more. It was only learning about manners from then on. Rue had manners! She didn't need to learn them. Two years in that hellhole. No books. No friends. Late at night she'd stay up, tracing the pads of her fingers across the edges of her metal bed frame, watching with blank indifference as ruby drops spilled to the wood floor. Each crystalline drop of blood made her feel better.
