SOLVED. YA Sci Fi about kids who were given the brains of famed scientists. [s]

I first read this book around 2013. The cover is dark (blue/black?) with a burst of orange in the middle, but I don’t remember much specifically apart from that. One of the first scenes is in a large swimming pool room. There are kids/teens who were raised in this facility and their brains are somehow composed of the brains of legendary figures. The only one I remember specifically is Thomas Edison. I believe the main character is a girl, but could be wrong. There’s also a scene where a vehicle is flipping/erratically driving while the kids are trying to escape from their facility. Sorry if this is a terrible description. I think one of the beginning scenes may also take place at a small restaurant on the water (somewhat near the aforementioned facility). Adults are talking and eating together and having a foreshadowing converasation.
