Welcome back Daniel! Excited to see where The Flashlighters takes us! As always there is a slight threat of bodily harm if you hurt my favorite characters! Just kidding, I adore you!

I am starting this book right........ now!

I am about 40% in. I'm not sure why, but I find the slower pace of the beginning of this book to be even more disturbing than the last book, that had quite a bit of action.

Maybe it was the (view spoiler)[slow, menacing pace of driving through the faceless nightmares (hide spoiler)] that got to me.

I just finished this part and it is official, John (view spoiler)[ is a complete tool and Mariah and Marcos are too good for him. Heck the dregs of humanity are too good for him. I tried to like him, I really did. He loves his daughter, he has a hint of emotion for Mariah (I guess), but his blatant disregard for humanity and the way he used Sam without a hint of remorse was the straw that broke this camels back. He showed more pity for the loss of the acetylene tank!!! Is he what we want to survive? This part pushed him over the line from anti-hero, to just selfish prick!

And I bet there are only 2 seats in his brothers plane, so he is just planning on ditching Mariah and Marcos when he gets to his brothers! (hide spoiler)]

So the non-spoiler parts. This is my favorite part so far. I know I said that last time, but instead of jump scares and being chased by monsters, this was more psychological scares and horror. If you liked the part where Mariah drove across the desert, this is going to be the episode for you. I loved that we were given more character development (view spoiler)[ even if I just wanted to scream over some of it. (see my above rant) (hide spoiler)] and there were a couple of huge revelations that thickened the plot in this part also.

Here is my dilemma. Today is the 4th. There are 27 days until I will read part five. I'm afraid my brain is going melt from anticipation of what happens next. (view spoiler)[ I'm pretty sure Gregory is not going to be happy with John, and based on the screw story, Gregory might be an even badder MF than John (hide spoiler)]

Badseedgirl, yeah, I agree with all of your spoilers. I'm not sure what to think about (view spoiler)[John now after just giving Sam to the mouth! I know he's a survivor but to what point will he feel more "human" to me. Mariah and Marcus might just save this mans soul and I hope that will be the case. LOL! (hide spoiler)]

Just finished. I love the imagery in this series! All of the moments with (view spoiler)[the finger coming out of the shed, the mouth hiding in the dark garage and the faceless figures shuffling around on the road has my nightmares looking much less tame these days. (hide spoiler)] hahaha!!

The nightmare imagery is this part has been some of the best of the series so far.

Started last night and finished this morning. Brilliant as usual, this one had some awesome visuals that my brain may have trouble letting go of.
