30 Day bump!I've tried searching this outside of GR and I'm still not finding it, but I know it's out there!
It sounds a little like The Dark is Rising series by Susan Cooper, but I don't think that is what you are looking for. Any of these spark your memory maybe? https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...
Or these: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/4...

The Dark is Rising has appeared in a lot of my searches outside of GR and sadly it isn't it. Thank you for the lists, but I didn't immediately see any of the books I may have read. :(
(Def not The Dark is Rising sequence - but this is one I wholeheartedly recommend!!!). :D Yes, I started a fan group for it here on GR. ;)Tamora Pierce wrote the 4-book "Circle of Magic" series. But I don't see an "Ori". Starts with Sandry's Book
Nicholas - are you positive about the spelling of Ori? (Of course Ori and the Blind Forest has gummed up the Google side of things!).
Do you remember if Ori was a nickname (maybe his name isn't listed as "Ori" on the back cover?).
If Stonehenge was mentioned, or another stone circle, then there's a list for that:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/8...
I have some more questions (let's see if we can jog anything else out of your memory!):- Do you remember where it was set? Ireland? USA?
- Does the word "Kelpie" (a water horse) ring any bells? (I checked the Kelpie list quickly just in case, but feel free to scan it again if so)
- Where did you read this? (Which country were you in at the time?). Where did you get your books from - library, school library, bookfairs, local bookstore or a chain?
- Was it assigned to you in class?! :) (If so, can you ask any other students if they remember anything? Or the teacher?)
- Is there a guide or mentor-type figure? How do the kids become aware of their calling or destinies or whatever?
- Are the Celtic spirits physical, or just floating apparitions?
- Do you happen to remember anything more about the author (local?), or why (if it was assigned for school) it was chosen?
- the titles: did they each refer to an element? Or the spirit?
I know most of this info will be lost/inaccessible, but sometimes it helps to jog something useful loose. :)

..."THAT'S IT!!! Thank you so MUCH, Capn! I did have the name wrong though. I don't know how you found this series but I'm glad you did!
Thank you!
My pleasure!I trawled through WorldCat (juvenile - fiction - celtic mythology), and for some reason only the final book came up. But because you gave a time range, a female author, and a 4-book series, I was suspicious, and then able to look up Andrea Spalding on GR. Your description of the dark-haired woman with white wings did it. ;)
Maybe Ori is Owen's nickname. :)

I think I may have just only remembered his name beginning with O and for some reason jumped to Ori. It's been AGES since I read this series, so my memory was probably in patches of it.

This is a Middle Grade/Children's fantasy series from what I believe was the 90s, possibly early 2000s because that's when I read it in school. I know there were at least four books because there were four characters, who I think were siblings, that each of the books focused on. I can't remember all of this kids' names but one was a boy named Ori who was a bit combative with his siblings.
Each book focused on one kid tied to a classical element (earth, fire, water, air) and how they were supposed to help a spirit from Celtic folklore. One of the spirits I think was a horse that might've been tied to Earth. One was a woman who appeared on one of the covers. She was tied to air and on the book cover she had black hair and was covered by her white wings. I believe her eyes were closed on the cover and she was tied to air. The background on the cover was a dark blue.
I'm very certain that the author was a woman, but I can't remember her name. I think Stonehenge was involved or referenced in the series.
That's about as much as I can remember. Hope you all can help!
