I was very worried about them in this story. When Tracy forgot that he was coming for the weekend, I wanted to kick her butt. She was putting her job before him and I can't blame him for being upset about it. Luckily he cooled down and later decided that long distance wasn't going to work. They need to be closer together if they want this to work.
I too was worried; I really like Dan and he was being a real adult when he could have taken a different turn.
I was worried also! You could just sense that Dan was feeling disconnected and neglected. Robin, I was annoyed with Tracy, too, for forgetting he was coming to town to visit.
I think what saved them was him realizing Tracy loves him and is consumed by her career. Dan decided to make the compromise and move closer because his career is the one that’s portable. I was proud of him for doing that rather than giving up.

I'm with you all. I was sure this book would end with Tracy and Dan breaking up. I am still concerned that Dan won't use his key to enter Tracy's home. Then when he tried, and the alarm code didn't work, I knew he was going to bolt. Unfortunately, I understand getting tied up with work and forgetting about family plans. I'm that person. Cell phones saved me more times than I could count. Once I had a cell, my husband would call and say, " Did you forget about me?"
I believe Dan can deal with her tunnel vision when she is working on a case. Maybe he didn't use the key because his ex cheated on him. He didn't want to walk into Tracy's house and find her with someone else.
