@Susan: Welcome as that's pretty awesome! The last fantasy novel I read was "Fairy Tale" and I absolutely loved it. You'll love this group, it's awesome :-)
@Mollie: Meowllo! Welcome and that's so awesome, same here! I love horror, mystery, suspense, and thriller! Super excited to talk books with you :-D
I’m Alison ! I’m a grad student who reads almost exclusively horror. I love horror because there’s so much freedom in it. The sub genres are endless, commentary opportunities are boundless, and there are rules to be broken or kept. I love it! Cant get enough. It’s also when humans are the most human. ❤️

Thank you guys for the warm welcome! ❤️ I’ve loved reading everybody’s input and getting friend requests to connect & see what you’re all reading!
@Alison: Welcome and very awesome! I'm the same way with my horror but do enjoy sprinkling in some mystery every now and then. I also can't get enough horror, LoL I even listen to horror movie soundtracks while reading horror :-D

I have read a lot of the more well-known and slightly older fantasy books. I would like some fantasy recommendations of new stuff or series if that is possible. I would also like to move away from the chosen one type of thing. Other than that I am open to any suggestions ideally in fantasy but also sci-fi and horror. Really just any books people have been really enjoying which are either new or underrated/less well-known. Thanks :)

In fantasy - I read this book which kicks off the Banished Land series Malice by John Gwynne - I finished the series last year. Gwynne is Amazing! I cannot recommend him enough.
I will go through my shelves and dig up some reads for you in your other genres. :)

Heyy! I’m Cyndi, from Mount Pleasant, SC. Pediatric psych nurse, rescue cat mom, mom to 4 human kids, and love anything scary… books, movies, tv! I also make crocheted animals that I donate to animal sanctuaries for them to use for fundraising. Happy to meet y’all!

Hello!I'm Lee and I'm a horror fan through and through. I'm 25, from Australia and am a chronic book collector. I definitely own more books than I have read much to my dismay! I also have a bad habit of half-reading books and getting distracted by a new book before finishing the old one! I work full time and study full time on top so I rely on books as my escape. My favourite authors currently are Grady Hendrix and T. Kingfisher.
I'm looking forward to book-bonding with some like-minded horror fans, so let me know what the scariest you've ever read was!! I think the scariest so far for me has been Stolen Tongues by Felix Blackwell.
Happy Haunting!
