Tristan | 7 comments Looking for what I believe was a poem about birthdays/aging but cannot for the life of me find it through a Google search. Initially I thought a children's author may have written it, such as Shel Silverstein or Dr. Seuss, but have had no luck in searching through their work. This doesn't necessarily mean it isn't one of them, however.

The poem was about the concept of age not being a linear progression, but more like matryoshka dolls. In that when you are 10, you are also all the other ages before that. Moments where you cry over something small are when you are 2 again, and so on. (Please note that these are paraphrased lines and not exact lines from the poem).

Unfortunately I do not remember when I first encountered this, but I'm going to estimate that it was between 2010-2014. I definitely encountered it as a picture online and did not physically read it in a book myself.

RabbitMilitia | 338 comments This may be way off... but could you be thinking of the quote by George Watsky? "We're every age at once and tucked inside ourselves like Russian nesting dolls. My mother is an 8 year old girl. My grandson is a 74 year old"...etc. I'm not sure if it is included in a book, but it is certainly often quoted/pictured online.
