Matt | 2 comments SF short; in an anthology; early ‘70’s; globe/sphere/orbs of material kept cold and used in a form of art where the material absorbs the intense emotional state of the artist in order that others may experience like) picked up from a book stand along the way. This story stuck with me but I cannot recall the name, author, or any identifying info and internet searches have failed.

In the story, artists kept orbs or spheres of a material that could absorb emotional states and transmit these feelings to others when in the presence of the orb. The globes were kept cold when not in use to preserve them, I think both before and after they were imprinted with the artists emotions.

The artists goal was to imprint absolutely pure and intense emotions— eg: joy, sorrow, anger, grief, pleasure, etc.

What is the main theme(s) of the anthology?
This book for adults or teens?
Does it include famous sci fi authors?
