Yes, it's a maze. If you've been playing the individual maze, it will be the same setup just with a bigger maze. Cat has set up a thread ..."

It will be a different password. The tasks will be posted in the Aegean group. Cat set up a task thread there.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6397 comments Looks a bit confusing, may have to take the lead from experienced players!

So books can't be used for both the Maze and the next month's mini challenge?

The books have been added into the spreadsheets. If you can add the links to your 3 participation comments, that would be helpful. Otherwise the captains and I can have a look into it

Hope you enjoyed the book (:

We moved the completed books down to row 240 or something to make it easier to add books. If you scroll down your first book will be there since its completed. So youre good already

Statue Update - 5 Days to go for the May Mini

As a team so far we've:
-read 66 books with 29492 pages
-earned 2943 page points, 140 BOM points, and 320 mini points
-completed 64 mini tasks and claimed the remaining 20
-and are currently in 2nd place overall

Fantastic job everyone!

Remaining May Mini-tasks
Deanna - 67, 77
Emma (M) - 3, 82
Karolyn - 57, 74
Lisa - Aussie Girl - 81
Sara - 2, 66
Sixty - 58

If anyone has a task you won't be able to finish for any reason, please let us know so someone can cover it. Remember that the majority of points for this challenge come from page points; so if you're not working on a task for the mini-challenge, you can happily read any book you'd like.

Deanna | 3529 comments Finished The Bourne Betrayal (Jason Bourne, #5) by Eric Van Lustbader and Murder of Crows (The Others, #2) by Anne Bishop and updated spreadsheet.d

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6397 comments Great job, everyone.

Do you get extra points for writing DQ's in the Backroom BOM? I wrote the questions for day 2 but only have 20 points listed. Can you check it out Mods? Thank U. '😊

Yes, you get points for the DQs. It looks like one of the co-captains fixed whatever the issue was already.

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 816 comments Finished The Match (Wilde, #2) by Harlan Coben . I read the paperback version of 344 pages. Not sure what this link goes to but it's correct on our spreadsheet. The hardcover has more pages

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Hey Deanna, just letting you know that I won’t likely finish one of the two books I have left to read for the mini challenge (the one against 82). I’m on a long weekend away with family and am not getting as much spare time as I thought I would.

message 223: by Deedee (last edited May 27, 2022 11:06AM) (new)

Deedee | 626 comments Currently reading The Last Train to Key West by Chanel Cleeton, 303 pages, which is set in Key West, Florida. I'll finish it sometime this long Memorial Day weekend. Not sure which tasks it would fit. I might read one other book before the end of the month -- we'll see.

No worries Emma! We will see if there's another book that can fit there!

message 225: by Karolyn (new)

Karolyn | 1041 comments I finished Range and The Paris Apartment today! My Mom is visiting this week, so I haven’t had as much reading time as normal… but we finally tired her out and all she’s wanted to do today is read and rest.

I started The Traveling Cat Chronicles and think it will be a quick read (and probably make me sad). So I may even get another book in this weekend or start a new doorstop book.

message 226: by Karolyn (new)

Karolyn | 1041 comments And just want to second Deanna’s comment to let us know if you think you won’t finish something for the Mini. We have a few “extra” books team members have already completed. And if you do add/complete anything before the end of the month… it will be really helpful if you share all the letters it can be used for in case we need to move things around. 😄

Also… Monday is a holiday here in the USA and many people take advantage of the long weekend. So please be patient with your US based co-captains and team members if we’re slow to post the next few days.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6397 comments Thanks Karolyn and to all in the US enjoy your long weekend.

message 228: by Ilsen (new)

Ilsen | 28 comments I haven’t added all the books on the sheet as I’m planning on adding when I finish them. I’ll probably finish 2-3 books for the weekend. Should I put it on the sheet just in case?

message 229: by Elisabeth (new)

Elisabeth Rose (elisabethrose) | 816 comments The book I’ve just started is a collection of writings and memories of the actor Dirk Bogarde. His sister is called Elizabeth, if that helps with the mini. I’ll finish it in time, it’s a good read.

It’s fine to add them when you finish if that’s what you prefer 😄

Karolyn | 1041 comments Just a quick update on the Mini…

We moved a few tasks around to maximize the use of books that team members have already finished reading. As of now we only have 4 books left and we’ll have the Mini complete!!!

Awesome work Team 😄🎉😄

Sarah (sarahjh26) | 629 comments I'm still working on an audiobook and hardcover but I will finish before June 1. Unfortunately, neither will work for I or R.

Karolyn | 1041 comments Well… after avoiding it for 2+ years I tested positive for COVID yesterday. Thankfully my symptoms are mild so far. The good news for the team is about all I can manage to do right now is listen to audiobooks 😄

message 240: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 728 comments I've added another book, but it doesn't fit the mini unfortunately.

@Karolyn: take care of yourself. I hope it stays mild, but the good news is that you can read books ;)

message 244: by Bee (new)

Bee (abirbee) | 667 comments I'm reading a short book, just a 101 page, and it has an I in it, if we still need it

message 245: by Shannon (new)

Shannon O'Flynn | 630 comments Congrats guys! We finished the mini! Way to go!

You guys can keep reading to add more page points but all the tasks are accounted for until the next challenge starts. We are still a little under where we could potentially be with books read so there's still no penalty for reading (and even if there was it would probably balance out by the end anyways)

message 246: by Emma (M) (new)

Emma (M) | 1777 comments Just confirming, that means that even books that had provisionally been assigned a number in the mini are no longer needed for the mini but can just be read for book points?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6397 comments Karolyn, the same thing has happened in our family. Two and half years, nothing. Then husband got it and inadvertently gave it to our oldest grandson when they went to the footy... and he spread it among his family. But neither I or our youngest son got it and it's been over 14 days now. Luckily all fully vaccinated so mild symptoms. Hope you and yours are okay as well.

And we're going great team. Woo Hoo. Happy reading.

Thanks and I hope everyone in your family is recovering well. We’re also vaccinated and hopefully that it will stay mild. Fortunately no one else in my family has had symptoms (yet).

I just started a 25 hour audiobook… so that should keep my mind busy for a few days.
