a group who have been sent on some type of mission stumble across a burned down rectory. there they meet the sole survivng monk/priest. The monk puts them up for the night and tells them what happend to the rectory and how every other member died (in a fire, i believe). The group discovers that the monk has an edelic memory and can remember every thing he reads. The group ask him to join them on their mission and serve as a guide or informationist. However, the monk has never set foot off the rectory grounds since he arrived as a boy. He desides to go with them. The monk provides historical details that aide the group as they go along. I think the group was sent by the king or queen to follow the trail and discover whose been reaking havok in the kingdom. The monk buried every member of the rectory by himself. He also talks to a tree on the grounds. I believe the group promised to rebuild the rectory just as it was per his memory. At the end of the mission I think he opens up a little book story as payment
