What I would give for an arc!
Has anybody read glass sword, because I've heard some people have and they were shocked with how it turned out to be...
If you find anyone tell me! I really want to see how this goes.
She is. No one is allowed to say anything though or they face a fine and an ARC ban

I feel you man
It's happened so many times. Especially when I ship the hero with a villain. ;-;
(view spoiler)
OKAY LET ME EXPLAIN TO YOU ALL WHY MAVEN IS A BAD IDEA AND WHY CAL IS FOR THE WIN.1. In my heart I don't believe it's a love triangle. By the way it was set up I think it was Cal and always will be.
2. This reminds me a little bit of Twilight except Maven is an evil version of Jacob and Cal is a much more stern version of Edward and Mare is a feisty version of Bella. Think about it. Piece it together.
3. I did not like Maven from the beginning. He was too possesive of Mare, too kind, and just TOO much. It got me suspicious.
4. Cal is kind to be kind and doesn't expect anything out of it. Examples: gives Mare money at the bar and gets her a job.
5. Mare is very vague about her feelings but at no point does it feel like she's falling in love with Maven. (go back to my Twilight reference) it seems to be that she constantly fights feelings for Cal making him the one she most likely loves. Examples: her anger towards Evangeline and Cal being together, her hesitancy to be around Cal sometimes, her temptation to kiss him, she eventually does kiss him even though she's not supposed to and she does it anyway.
6. If Mare really loved Maven she would have CHOSEN to kiss him. Maven kissed Mare.
7. Mare kissed Cal willingly.
8. Cal maybe a little lost right now as of end of book one but you can tell he loves Mare. He's just torn between heart and duty, something I actually admire about him. He just doesn't throw away his life, his career, his duty, all that he's ever known just to choose a girl that he's been in love with for a day. Hence, why he didn't choose her at the end of book one.
9. Maven was not lovable people he was a little freaking creepy sometimes.
10. Cal protects Mare and her secrets. Even though she was engaged to his brother he still showed her love and compassion. Example: when she went to see her family.
(some details are foggy like names so sorry guys. I read this book months ago)
11. IF Mare REALLY loved Maven and not Cal she would have a certain loyalty towards Maven. She doesn't. This is proved when she kisses Cal AND chooses to be with him and try to fight for him in the end when she kisses him again and is like "choose me"
12. Even Maven knows that Cal and Mare are in love. He explicitly states that, "Cal would choose her over everything" and we never know. There could be an underlying reason for Cal's choices.
13. Still three more books people.
14. IF Cal and Mare weren't meant to end up together it would not be set in the book like it might be a possibility in the future. Maven destroyed all possibility when he went and sided with his mother and killed his father. (did he kill his father? can't remember)
15. Mare is a very good hearted and intelligent girl despite her flaws. She would not want to be with a man that is:
-a coward
-evil
-cruel
-twisted
-would imprison his no matter what good and kind brother
-would become a tyrant ruler
-does whatever his evil mommy says
There's my list. Like I said, a lot can happen. Three more books people! But I truly believe in my heart that in the end Maven is going to be either a permanent villain or just not a love interest. Personally, i see that from the beginning it's set up that Cal and Mare will end up together and personally I hope they do.

Omg! Maven tried to kill her! She must not end up with him. My God. The comments scare me. Anyway, Cal is not my favourite at all, but is better for Mare.
I don't like either. Maven, well, he's a psychotic tyrant, there really isn't more to him. Cal, he seem s a bit dry. There's just no personality in him. And I guess there are people who ship Mare and Kilorn. Guys, no.
Like I said before, I'm goin' with the flow, I don't really care who mare end up with. Kilorn, Maven or cal who cares we want to see her kick some silver asses! :pBut of course I hope mare does end up with someone so they can rule beside her. Tbh I don't know if Maven is possible now, isn't he oh I don't know, psychopathic????
GUYS IM SO CONFUSED!!! There's too many love options!
Ok first of all, Maven ended up being a backstabbing brat but never failed to pull the heart strings, which makes this choice even more difficult. I love her with both but Maven would just make everything so unstable and her trust for him has completely diminished anyways. Cal needs to grow a pear and stop throwing fits. But can we just take a minute to point out that both men have broken her heart? Take that into consideration. :)
I've just finished reading this booK twice....the first time I was all team Maven. Now I am starting to think that someone else might steal Mares heart (in the upcoming book) either someone we know and didn't expect at first (e.g. Kilorn) or someone completely new (like one of the people Mare now has to trace and find)But if I had to choose only between Maven and Cal- its Maven. I just think that Mare and Maven have a special emotional link- the one that makes gives Mare the ability to bring out a softer or more desperate side of Maven even after betrayal.
Cal!! how is this even a debate?? Maven was a hideous TRAITOR! D:Unless this author pulls a Tahereh Mafi with what she did with Warner....but I don't think so! :/
I loved both, even though *spoiler* maven turned into a badass traitor, I really hope he breaks from this control I guess his mother has him in, because I starting warming up to him when they kissed but I've always been for Cal, he's just right for her.
Team Maven all the way! Yes, he did betray Mare and Cal and his Father. And he is a power hungry moron who plotted to kill his Father, almost killed his Brother and the girl whom he was engaged to(the girl who had a crush on his Brother :p)Yes, he did want to kill Mare - but who wouldn't? After all of Maven's dialogues about always being overshadowed by his Brother, the one second he asks Mare to come with him, she refuses (in front of his Brother that too). Having said that, it doesnt make Maven good-he is evil, power hungry, deceiving, cunning.
But, one thing is not to be forgotten. Even after knowing that Mare had feelings for Cal-Maven did ask her when she was in the cell, if she would come with him! And the second of change in him when she said "I thought you were better than Cal" tells me that there could be more to Maven-Mare story than we think.
Maven grew up to be the person he is because he was always his brother's shadow, second preference. He obviously listened to his Mother who kept feeding him evil ideas! And I do hope there is still a part of him which has feelings for Mare. When Mare asks about Thomas-he faltered. Love can change everyone. It might change Maven too. And even if not, Maven is still this badass guy.
I hope we get to see more of Mare and Maven moments in the coming books.
I like Cal, but Cal-Mare, just seems too cliche.
And I'm not rooting for Kirlorn. I've had enough with these best-friendVsHotGuy love triangle.
Mare-Maven-Cal -now this would be an interesting triangle.
Team Maven all the way!
*Fingers crossed* Hope Maven sees the error of his ways and unites with Mare.
I like Maven better, even after what happened. I felt so betrayed it's ridiculous. But I still love him! This is bad.
Bianca wrote: "Maven all the way like after his betrayal I was like, 'I fell in love with you and you betrayed me and the worst part is I still love you'.I will always love Maven now that his evil I love him even..."same
I am team Maven all the way. Living in your brothers shadow can be something not everyone can go through. Maven is a perfect example of that. He deserves love and more. Maybe if his father had given him more of the share of the attention Cal received then maybe he wouldn't have turned out that way. Again this is just what I believe.I adore Maven and still think there may be a chance at him ending up with Mare. Even after his betrayal I still love Maven. I just hope Maven gets a happy ending in these books. He deserves it after all he had to go through.
Honestly I am neither Team Cal, nor Team Maven nor Kilorn, because I just really dislike Mare. Maven however is the only character I really like and think is actually interesting. All I want, is to see as much as possible of him and I am hoping very, very much to get to know more about his past and his relationship with his brother and parents. I am also really looking forward to see some development in his character. I don't care about Mares relationship, I am so done with all the stupid love triangles in every YA-Novel. Yes, I'm going to be very annoyed to read about Cal and Mare making out, but only because it's so cliché. As I said before, I want to know more about the family history. I know, my first comment here has been very different, but I've thought a lot about it in the last few years. I wasn't a big fan of the book, if I'm honest. Everything was way too predictable, maybe except for the betrayal. That's also why I don't think, for everyone here, who is rooting for Mare/Maven, that they are actually going to end up together. Nevertheless, I will give the second book a try and maybe I too will be surprised and who knows what's going to happen? I personally love Maven and wish him to finally find someone to love him the he his. Mare was just like everyone else, jumping between Cal and Maven, but deep down she preferred Cal and that wasn't doing Maven any good. He is the example of all of us, normal people who aren't that strong and confident. He was hurt and in that state very, very easy to manipulate and his mother saw that and used it for herself. So to sum it up, Maven is just a pawn in a game of reign and power. He is the victim who turned into a villain, which is no surprise at all. Maybe he someday will find his strength and honestly I would love that. He could be a great king, as soon as he figured out the truth. Maybe he never will, than he will die in the final book, in his last battle as a cruel-some villain.
*damn it, of course not in the last few years. What am I even talking about? :D I meant to say, in the last few months haha :D
Cal all the way!! I've liked Cal since the beginning. I always felt Marven had something to hide and true, I was right!

I guess I will always like maven, no matter what he does. Maybe I like him even more now that he is so evil. Too bad, I know.
read the second book, guys. all opinions will change. just wait >.<
You've read it?! I'm so jelous!
The only problem is that I don't really feel like reading it. To everyone who has already had the chance of reading it, is the second one as predictable as the first one? Does it still feel "as if you've already read it" in terms of, that there were scenes inside which kinda had already happend in other books? I'm horrible at explaining this, but what I mean is that the book didn't feel new, original, unique. Is the second one better?
