Thank you, James, for sending me the invite to join your group.
Let me introduce myself. My name is Jerry Bush. I live in Manchester, TN. I'm currently unemployed but have a job lined up to drive for JB Hunt at the end of April.
I was Saved on January 5, 1997 at Grace Baptist Church in Manchester. After a little more than a year, my siblings and I left the church. I tried to go to other churches, but nothing stuck. I soon became backslid.
I joined the Navy on March 30, 2001. I was in Norfolk, VA when Sept 11 happened. In January 2002, I was stationed on the submarine, USS JACKSONVILLE SSN 699. I stayed there until my 5 year contract ended on March 29, 2006.
Back home, I shifted from job to job never being able to stay long. I had a feeling I knew what the problem was but I didn't want it confirmed. However in 2017, after over a decade of struggling, I talked to a psychiatrist at the VA and he said by what I told him that I was suffering from PTSD. Once I got used to the prescribed medication, I found a job driving a truck for Titan Transfer in February 2018. I stayed with the company until June 2020 when I left to take care of my Dad.
While driving for Titan, I started thinking about God and began to watching videos and listening to Audible books from people like William Lane Craig, RC Sproul, Ravi Zacharias, and John Piper.
I also tried to get my Bachelor's degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. I started classes in January 2019 until May 2021. Due to financial problems, I had to stop attending. Hopefully I'll be able to go back next year when I have better finances.
