I am sure we are all aware of the nightmare taking place in Ukraine over the past month and a half. To honor the Ukrainians’ strength and sorrow, the first task is to read a book with a color from the Ukrainian flag. Teams decide which color, blue or yellow. The selected book need to be primarily the selected color. No pass for this task.

I have plenty of blue books. I can find yellow, but that will take longer. I’m stuck at the ER today waiting for an ultrasound for a possible blood clot. 😢

Laura, I know it's early where you are but I'm thinking about it now. Any answers on what's going on? Been thinking about you.

It is a blood clot. And because I’m so good at ignoring my own health, it’s completely blocking the vein, not just totally. So I’ll be on blood thinners for 3-6 months. Meanwhile I’m on crutches because it hurts so darn much to put any weight on the leg.

Oh my gosh, I'm sorry! I hope the meds and the crutches help.

I hope so, too! Not the kind of souvenir I really wanted from my second bout of Covid. :(

It's very close, I think. I can ask for approval if you all don't want to wait for me to finish Legacy - which is probably late tonight.

I don’t care either way. I was just responding to your comment, because I was out of it while getting my medical stuff taken care of.

How are you feeling? I'd be scared to death with a clot!

[Laura]

It hurts like the dickens, mostly because I let it get bad enough that it’s totally occluded, rather than partial. I’m on blood thinners, and will be for a few months. I’m just focused on the next step right now. Which is enough of it dissolving that I can put weight on that leg without crutches. But at least now I know it’s just pain. So if it hurts getting into a car, or stepping wrong, I don’t have to worry that I’m doing further damage. My mom is an ER nurse, so she’s made me feel better. It’s in the vein, not the artery. Arterial are the ones you see in tv shows, where they have to rush to surgery. Those are less common.
