SCTYA | 11 comments She learns about horses and how to ride. Closest I could find is a book called A Riding Chance and A Horse Called Trouble. I'm not entirely sure that A Horse Called Trouble isn't it, but I'm pretty sure the protagonist was 16 not 10. The first two words of the book are “Young Lady” and it's spoken by a judge during her hearing. The only other scenes I remember are she panics about horses having horns before being corrected that the teacher meant the pommel on the saddle, and there was an old stone wall that was "extremely dangerous" to jump, but she tries it anyway and someone gets hurt stopping her.

I think older, and I read it here in America during high school. Really gave me chicken soup for the soul vibes.

Like I said, it seems really similar, but I found it online and reread the first few chapters and it’s not the same book. The protagonist was a much older teenager.

No, doesn’t seem like it. The very first chapter has her in a court hearing, where she meets the head counselor. The age is about the same though.

bookel | 4024 comments The Trouble with Skye republished as
A Horse to Love by Hubler.
First words shown here: https://www.librarything.com/work/833...
It includes the horn and pommel scene according to snippet view on Google Books. Found on Google Books by searching judge "young lady" horses, and being intrigued by the fact that she didn't mind "young lady" in the snippet shown.

Kristin (Lit Couture) (lit_couture) | 2 comments Could it have been the book series based on the TV show Wildfire? The first one is called Show-Off.

Unfortunately not it, but seems really interesting!

bookel | 4024 comments Google is too broad, so I usually select More - Books. You can select Tools - Any time - Custom range to enter a year range. Then check results.
