This was pretty good. I see that it's just the beginning of this couple's story and that's good because I thought it was unfinished. Not sure why it had to be two books then when this one was short. Honestly though, it's not on audio so I'm not sure that I'll continue on with the series. I didn't like it enough to sit and read it since my ability to that these days is really limited.

Ok, I don't mind the enemies-to-lovers trope but they were juvenile. I rolled my eyes a lot in the beginning. I kept screaming, "JUST BONE ALREADY!"
It got better though once they started acting human and not like toddlers.
They still had to act like idiots before the end though. *sigh*
The ending was cute, so I forgave them! I think I would continue with this series at some point. While I didn't like this book as much as Let's Get Textual, it was a fun read.

So this a reread. I think I liked this better the first time. I was more critical this time. First, I loved the male narrator, John Lane, but I thought the female narrator's accents weren't as strong.
Also, I liked the story but I was floored by the fact that (view spoiler)
Otherwise I like the falling for the matchmaker trope.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Ok first off can I say that I didn't think that Tabitha's secret was that big of a deal. I guess I'm not in a place to judge but I thought she should be proud.
I liked Collin even though he had to grow on me. I thought he and Tabitha suited. I also liked the way he tried to make things up when he screwed up!

What happens when your world is turned upside down? Will you find each other again?
That's the takeaway I got from this book. When Justin is in an accident that takes his memories of the last five years ago, his partner Dallas has to deal with the fact that the man he loves has no idea who he is.
I have no idea what I'd do if my husband suddenly lost our life together. All the memories, the small things, the things you see as inconsequential that actually add up to life.
But love sees you through and this ended on an air of hope. The story is not over but I can't help but be hopeful that Justin and Dallas will find their way back to each other.

So this was a continuation of Dallas and Justin's story. Justin's home from the hospital and reality has set it. Dallas can be happy that Justin is alive but life is moving on. There is a business to run, bills to pay, and a partner still healing from a horrific accident.
I thought this author did a great of job of highlighting those kinds of difficulties. We are always told that you can't replace people and that is so true. But the bill collectors still come calling even when you're grateful to just be alive.
I also think that the author did a great job of shining a light on what people through when they are recovering from a traumatic brain injury.
Dallas and Justin got closer but Justin was fretting about his inability to be the man he was and Dallas was fretting about everything else.
The end of this book gave us the hope that things were one the mend but I'll be happy for this two get their HEA on and for all. I look forward to reading the last book.

So this has become a comfort read at this point. How can you not love Pin Man (Owen) and Pencil Boy (Jordan). I am still lamenting that this book is so short because I really don't feel like we got enough of these two. They are definitely my most favorite superheroes!
Eli Easton is such a go to for me when I want characters that I will not only root for but I end of genuinely caring about.

Ok, so I was pretty much done when the main character's sister said "You've been like a grumpy teddy bear with a thorn stuck in its side..." Who says that? What's a grumpy teddy bear?
But that was just chapter two so I pushed on. LOL, but I was thinking that maybe English wasn't the author's first language because there were odd instances like that throughout.
Needless to say, I don't have much interest in continuing on with this series.

Luckily tomorrow I don't have to get up until 7 instead of my usual 4 am!
It's been a great ride! Let's see how it shakes out!

LOL - not with the run we had!! Lisa couldn't see (eye operation for floaters that suddenly turned up halfway through the game), Donna had COVID, and I continue to be super-busy (not that I ever manage much!) Shannon was probably watching YouTube when she realised the rest of us were lame-ducks. 😂
LOTS of fun though. We just enjoyed the run. :)

I *think* so? Its just the longer healing process for D & L... My HB got shingles about a month ago, so I'm having to fill in around the place more ~ again, slowly slowly getting better.

Sorry for everyone's health challenges. Hope to see you in fighting shape next round!

This was an adorable friends-to-lovers story. Stella was hilarious with her non-filter, but the fact that she kept getting sayings wrong was a little OTT. I still really enjoyed it though.
I knew Stella's brother was going to be a butthead but I'm glad he came around.
I really like this series and like the family. I'll definitely be reading the third book.
