The StoryGraph allows you to find books depending on what feelings you want to feel while reading (filters like funny, dark, adventurous, emotional, etc.), filter by genre, pace and that's pretty much it.
My website allows us to put tags on books such as "retellings", "enemies to lovers", "vampires", "clean/steamy romance", etc. With the advanced search form on my website, you can search specifically for a book that would have ALL those criterias, but there's even more : you can exclude criterias and for instance search for a YA book without vampires or werewolves in it.
The website is already online without the register page, has been tested a bit by a couple of users, and I might put back the register page this week to make the website public :)
Sounds good but how will you get the huge amount of detailed data on many 10,000s of books to make the site useful.StoryGraph has readers/users to supply the data but they just don't have enough users to make searches spot on and the same books seem to pop up.
Definitely let me know if you ever get your site going, would be interested. It is always hard finding that next book to read.
On Goodreads I try to follow people whose tastes in books are over a 75% match to mine and see what they are reading and like. To find this "taste in books match" I use the Goodreads Compare Books Chrome extension.
At first, I made a script to get some data from a website that provides a lot of books free of rights, but there wasn't always all the information so I had to sort all these out. Today, I have over 400 books with detailed data on it. I plan to add books on the website often and now I'm counting on finding users that would find the website useful (even if there aren't thousands of book, you can still find something via the advanced search, especially if you're into YA) and stay and add some book of their own.

Have a nice day :D

I had a project a few months ago to make a website that would allow us readers to find specific books.
Let’s say I’d like to read a romance. I am looking for one but what I really want is a clean romance with the trope enemies-to-lovers. And what if I had even more criterias? Maybe I want a specific trope not to be in this book. With this website, I would be able to find a list of books with everything I’m looking for.
Anyway, I have just released a first version of that website and I need to find people that would like to have an early access to use, test and fill it.
Would anyone be interested? If so, please DM me :)
