Anastasia Abboud (anastasiaabboud) | 138 comments I just finished a cozy and at the end, my reaction was a "huh?" Where in the world did that come from? The guilty party had almost nothing at all to do with the story. The author sort of tacked on a scenario at the end.

Isn't part of the fun of cozies trying to figure out "whodunnit"?

I definitely felt cheated.

What do you expect from a cozy? How do you define a good mystery?

For me, I like to try and figure out whodunit, but I love being surprised. However, the surprise would have to be someone who was a possibility all along, but I just didn't see the signs. I don't like it when we have no clues that the guilty person had any reason or connection to the victim.

A good mystery for me is to keep me guessing until the end.

Christine | 6 comments A surprise ending must, absolutely must make sense with the rest of the book.
I do not like a “ha ha gotcha” conclusion.

Interested to know what book you read with the disappointing ending
