Finally got to start this afternoon - only read a few chapters but like the premise (view spoiler)[ the Marquis fallen from grace and being saved by Lady Penelope from the previous series. Good to see her get beyond her nickname of "The Grape" although five marriage proposals and years later she is probably more like "The Prune", LOL. (hide spoiler)]

Up to Chapter 15.

(view spoiler)[ I'm really liking this one. It's a great combination of the childhood friends finding their way back to each other after circumstances have torn them apart. And SM has done a great job showing us who Penelope really is after a less than flattering description from Juliana's POV in the previous series. I really think Juliana and Penelope would be great friends now.

And I'm liking the road to redemption that Bourne is on with a little help from his true love. The cast of characters from the Fallen Angel too. I'm definitely going to read on to Pippa and Cross' book, I love the trope of the Bluestocking and the fallen aristocrat - probably because I would definitely have been a bluestocking if I had been born in that time, LOL. (hide spoiler)]

What do you ladies think of those fallen angels especially the unmaried one? Do you have favorite one? Do you find minor character that youthink would make interesting hero/heroine?

I like the premise of the fallen angels a lot. It's one of my favourite themes in historical romance and I always enjoy glimpsing into these literal dens of iniquity of the London gaming Hells.

I think I will enjoy the next book the most as I've mentioned I'm partial to bluestockings.

And I peaked at the back blurb of Chase's book (by accident) so I know what the secret is. But now I'm reading closely each book to see when I work it out. There were no obvious hints in book 1, so I'll see in Book 2.

Getting a lot more out of my reread than I probably did the first time. I'm another one of those who are looking for clues about Chase - not all that far into it yet, but I did notice one comment by Chase that in retrospect could have been a clue. So far Penelope's getting a little backbone, but still a long way till Bourne's 'redemption'
