Read a book from one of the three lists posted about billionaires/millionaires.

[Book: The Real Thing - Melissa Foster

Qualification: #310 on List--> Billionaires, Millionaires, Tycoons and Other Utterly Rich Romance Heroes
Read: 5/14/22
Rating: ★
Review:

First off, I really can't stand alpha male heros, but it seems like every book in this category is filled with them, so I just found a KU book I could read for free. I'm not sure if that was a mistake because this one was BAD.

This whole book is just two characters lusting after each other for no reason. There is not much of a plot, just a bunch of sickeningly sweet interactions that made me want to puke. I felt absolutely no romance for them, and they were both so annoying that I had a permanent look of annoyance or disgust on my face all the way through. I lost count of how many times I rolled my eyes.

This may be someone's thing, but it's not mine. One star.

Note: a well done alpha hero with some good vulnerability... sign me up. Where are those books? I'm guessing they're not on KU.

Review: I love books about books… although this was slightly over the top and at times unbelievable. I thought it took on a very serious topic, banning books/censorship etc and for the age group it was written for, it was a start.

I liked this. The story between Andrei and Lucas. Andrei who didn't know if he was gay or not and then millionaire Lucas, who meets Andrei after Andrei is assigned to be his bodyguard following a street mugging.
An interesting story and Iook forward to reading the rest of the series.

I don't think I've read a dragon egg book before but this was super fun. Nate's snarky personality made it for me. Alistair was just the sweetest but his family sure leaves something to be desired. They did nothing but insult him through the whole book. The other characters were great and the story itself was completely entertaining. Will definitely continue with the series. Dragons, who knew?

The book rating was hard for me on this one. Between 3 and 4 stars but I'll go with four because it did keep me coming back. It was quite the slow burn, friendship turns to romance type book with a whole lot of inner dialogue and giving each other space even if they didn't want to. They seemed to tip toe around each other even though they both said they didn't want that. We got to know Jax better because he was more open with his past and by the time we got to Tanner it just fell kind of flat for me. Not sure why. Maybe all the build up? Not sure. Anyways, like their romance a whole lot.

Review: Starting off quite light hearted and funny with Ireland contacting the CEO of her company because she was wrongly fired. A relationship develops between her and her CEO Grant and all seems to be progressing nicely until he tells her he never wants children.
The story is told in dual POV and covers that Grant was fostered and his parents also took in a girl called Lilly who eventually he marries. Lilly develops the same mental health condition her mum has and a horrific event happens with their baby leaving Grant feeling he unable to love. Ireland also has experienced traumatic incidents in her child hood.
The book covers some heavy topics relating to mental health and infant death but I thought it was written about very well by Vi Keeland.

Review:

Yeah, so this book was written for me. I loved it. I loved Charlie. He was absolutely perfect. I also related to him so much, and I have never ever read any book with such a good description of asexuality. I'm not demisexual so I can't speak on that aspect, but this book legit described feelings and thoughts that I thought I was the only person in the world having. A+ on that. I've read some really horrible characterizations of asexuality (I'm looking at YOU, The Love Hypothesis) and this one was excellent!

The mental health aspect of this book was also really well done. These two characters were so sweet and supported one another. I'm here for it. The secondary characters were great, the queer representation was good, I thought, and I actually really liked the backdrop of the reality tv show. The plot was great, and I loved it all up to the very end.

Five stars for me.

This is one of those book where you're just waiting for one of the MCs to figure out the big secret. And you wait and wait and they find out and it's no big deal. Hmm. That was anticlimactic. I did enjoy the book but I was more invested in the action adventure aspect than the romance. I mean the romance was nice but the other parts I loved. I guess you could read this before reading her previous series but you'll enjoy it more if you read them first. Will definitely continue with these guys.

Review:

I'm a complete sucker for a good best friends to lovers romance, and this one was a really good one. I loved Julian and Parker both, and I loved all their friends (though there were maybe TOO many characters, but I think that's probably because this was a part of a series and I haven't read the other books) and I even liked Erin even though she did some questionable things. The dialogue was witty and clever and so was the storyline and the characters motivations. It was just well done in general. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of a few personal preferences which I don't even need to mention, but it's not the author's fault. Great book, highly recommended!

Review: This was a short story but covered a lot. Lillian travelling with the boss of the company in South America when they are kidnapped and held for ransom. Usually Gabe is standoffish with her and he’s grumpy on the trip as well. Lillian wasn’t aware that he was being standoffish as he was attracted to her.
Luckily Gabe used to be in the Army and uses his training to get them out the hostage situation and makes his feelings clear to Lillian.
I think the book could definitely have been longer as I struggled to get much of a sense of both characters beyond Gabe being a strong, moody, protective type and Lillian being bubbly and fun with inner strength

I am not really sure why I dont gel with this series as I like Amy Lane and also like magic books. The coven just seem to be languishing trying to prevent an even bigger problem.

It took these forever to get together but the ride to get there was so sweet, sad, frustrating, heartbreaking....So good! Easton was the kind of friend we all wish we had. He stuck by Wyatt through thick and thin even when it was painful. Their son was freaking hilarious and played a great part in this book. I cried, I laughed, just loved it!

Review:

So... I've read two other books in this series and this is my least favorite one. The writing is decent, and I'm still interested in the overall story of the series. It's just that the romance did absolutely nothing for me, and I really did not like Truman. I found nothing about Truman/Sam sexy or romantic. Yikes. Also, half of this book is NOT a romance, it's some half baked mystery instead, which is not my genre of choice. Besides being interested in Mikey and Tiller's continued story, the only thing in here that really interested me was Sam and his relationship with his toxic family. In fact, the first 30% of this book damn near put me to sleep.

So how to rate this? I don't feel like this deserves the three stars I'm giving it, but I also gave The Love Hypothesis 2 stars and that book was absolutely horrendous, so I don't feel like it deserves that either. So I guess 2.5? This is definitely the worst book in the series so far. I hope the next one is better.

The conclusion of the Harris books was very fitting. I loved that we got to see more of Vaughn and that him and Gareth were able to try and heal their damaged relationship. I also liked the development in the actual relationship with Gareth and Sloan and how they worked that out between them and built their families into the story. A very good series and I’m looking forward to reading more from Any Daws in the future
