This is an introductory post for the discussion of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, the debut novel by Susanna Clarke, who won last year's Women's Prize with Piranesi. I will post a reading schedule when I have worked out how to subdivide the discussion, and we will aim to start reading in mid-April.

Thanks for setting this up Hugh. This is my first read along with this group, I'm looking forward to it!
My copy, which I have had for over a year, is near the bottom of an unstable pile of 30 unread books, but I will try and extract it soon so that I can do the reading schedule.
I found this 2004 interview with the author pretty interesting.https://www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham/cont...
I am on course to finish my initial read today, but typing up my notes may take me a few days. Everything is so detailed that I may need to summarise my chapter summaries...
