Journee’s eyes darted around the table, seeing all who was there. No one who mattered, anyway. “This is our last fall formal. Also, I really, really want you to come. And I promise, I will protect you from the crazy people. I won’t drink, too. I promise. Please come, Blake.” she said.

Journee smiled. “Okay. Well, I’ll see you tonight at the formal. See ya!” she said. She winked at him, then got up, and took her food to her normal table.
Journee felt accomplished. She went to all her classes, then at the end of the day, left in her car, blasting confident music as she drove to her house.((timeskip to tonight? getting ready))
Journee did her hairstyle first: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/im... Then she did her makeup: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/im...
She slipped into her dress next: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/im...
Then her shoes: https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&...
((ahhh they’re matching that’s so cute!!))Journee put on her earrings: https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&...
Then her bracelets and necklaces, and grabbed her clutch purse: https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=l&...
Finally, she grabbed her phone and walked out the door, deciding to take a taxi. She got dropped off at a restaurant, where her friends were.
Journee ate with her friends, then left in another taxi with Loraine and Dahlia. They drove to the formal, then got out and paid the taxi driver. Then, they all took formal pictures with the professional photographer Loraine’s dad had hired, then went inside.
Journee was dancing in the center with her friends, wondering if Blake was almost here. She giggled as a junior guy started to do the worm, and she scooted out the way, laughing. Her hands were on her hips as she laughed, standing near the doorway.
Journee turned around, placed her clutch on a table with her jacket, then her green eyes caught Blake’s. She stood up straight and walked towards him. Even with her high heels, he was still taller than her. “Hey, Blake! Oh my God, we’re MATCHING. That’s a really strange coincidence!” she said, giving him a side hug.
Journee smiled up at him, her creamy mixed skin spotless, her pink cheeks flushed. She pulled him to the floor, but on a side, not in the center. She did a little hip dance to the music, grinning.
Journee smiled at him dancing. Then, “Baby” by Justin Beiber came on, and Journee had to resist jumping to the song. “Aghhh… I can’t jump in these heels and this dress!” she told Blake. She sang the song loud though, but she didn’t leave Blake’s side, not wanting him to disappear in the crowd. She’d promised.
((ooooh yessss would she sit on his shoulder, or what? it’s a high building so))Journee grinned over at Blake, opening her arms out wide with Dahlia, who’d come over. Then Loraine can over, then they both left. Journee just stayed by Blake.
Journee squeaked as she was lifted into the air. Several other people saw them doing that, and some copied them. Journee felt free, like she was flying, as she sang. She felt safe with Blaka.
(( ahahahahaaahaghahaaa im dying blaka))Journee stroked his hair as she was on his shoulder dancing. She sang loud, loving his touch. He was strong and tall.
Journee high-fived another person on someone’s shoulders, then squealed as the song ended. She bent down and whispered in Blake’s ear, “Thank you so much! That was so fun.”
Journee hopped down, and giggled. “Blake, you’re so strong! And man, is that what it’s like to be tall? I’m only 5’8”.” she said. “What’s your height?” she asked.
“Dang. That’s a nice height for a guy!” she said, smiling. “Wanna go see what’s at the snack table?” she asked.
Journee decided to grab his hand. She pulled him to the snack table, laughing. She looked over the contents.
Journee tossed a cracker into the air, and ducked and caught it in her mouth. She picked another one up, and faced Blake. “Want one?” she asked, and tossed it high, above him, for him to catch in his mouth.
((sorry i disappeared just been busy. i won’t be on much today bc of school and church and chores and stuff btw.))Journee grinned at him. She looked around, and listened to the music. 𝑆𝑙𝑜𝑤 𝑚𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑐. “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran. Music to slow dance to. Uh oh. Would Blake want to slow dance with her, even with everything that had happened?
Journee looked up at him, and smiled. “I would like to dance, yes.” she said, taking his hand. She put her right hand on his left shoulder, and her left hand was pressed against his right hand. She started to step in a box dance.
Journee dances with him, and it was an awkward silence. She decided to talk. “So, do you play any musical instruments?” she asked him.
Journee nods, impressed. “I play the violin and fiddle, which are the same instrument but different musical styles. I also play the ukulele and guitar. I never had patience to learn piano, though, since my teacher was a b****.” she said. “I’m learning the drums from my grandpa right now. Even though he’s 64, he’s still super energetic and the BEST drum teacher.” she grinned.
Journee bit her lip. “I-I’m sorry.” she said. After a minute, she decided to keep going. “Any other instruments you know? Do you sing or dance?”
Journee’s eyes widened. “The saxophone? That’s awesome! I took dance lessons from age 3 to 10, gymnastics age 9 to 13. Along with all the other things, including the instruments.” she said. “I can sing, but I’m kinda shy with that stuff. Which is, like, crazy, because I’m super extroverted with everything else.” she said. “Do you songwrite at all?”
Journee smiled. “Thanks. And I bet they’re good.” she said. “I song-write basically every week, like a journal.” she said. She scrunched up her nose, then smiled at him and went back to normal. “Do you do any sports?”
Journee looked him over. “I mean, you got the muscle.” she said. “Do you mean tough like you don’t wanna hurt anyone or get hurt yourself?”
Journee nodded sympathetically. “Yeah. Well, I can do soccer and volleyball, and a bit of football.” she said. “I don’t do it anymore since my ADHD has grown worse that I can’t focus on what the coaches dare even saying.” she said quietly.
(( hahahaha))Journee smiled up at Blake. “I guess so.” she said softly. She kept slow dancing with him, not caring about anyone else.
Journee rested her head on his chest, her hands on his shoulders. She sighed. “I don’t want this night to end, but again… I don’t know what’ll happen.” she thought.
Journee was glad, for once, she wasn’t in the center. They were just on the edge of the dance floor. She wrapped her arms around his neck and stayed there. No kisses. Just close friends… for now.
Journee massaged his neck, ruffling the back of his head in his hair. “This is nice.” she said quietly.
Journee breathed in his scent. His cologne smelled so nice, and his hair… mm, his hair smelled like heavenly man.
((hahaha yessss))Journee didn’t care about the eyes watching them. She didn’t care. She was with BLAKE. She rocked back and forth on her toes.
The music became upbeat, and Journee lifted her head up, and put her hands down from his neck. She took his hand, and said, “Let’s go outside, get some fresh air.”
Journee walked outside with Blake, and let the door shut behind them. They were on a little bridge pathway, and a few other people were at the far end. Journee leaned against a bridge side, still holding Blake’s hand.
Journee smiled up at him. “Yes, very nice.” she says quietly. She felt entranced with him… but not ready to date just yet. Not yet… but she knew who she wanted to date when she was ready.
Journee smiled at his touch. “Well, I’m glad you came, and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. We have 2 and a 1/2 more hours left.” she said, giggling.
Journee smiles up at him. She looks up, her round green eyes surveying the stars. Her eyelashes were very long. Like, veryyyy long. But they were her natural eyelashes, not fake. “The stars are gorgeous. I like looking up at them. Which sounds crazy because I know they’re boring sometimes, and I have intense ADHD, but stars… calm me down.” she said quietly.
Journee realized her hand was still holding Blake’s, but she didn’t remove it. She just smiled. Then, all of a sudden, big booms came from inside the building. They’re playing a loud bass song! She opened the door, and the music came out, and she was right! They were playing a really bass-y song. She laughed, looking over at Blake.
Journee grinned. “Let’s go inside!!” she said, and pulled him inside, shutting the door behind them.
Journee held his hand tight. ((timeskip to at the end of the formal))
Journee walked out with him after partying all night. “Wanna take a taxi together? I think I live closer, so I’d be dropped off first, then you. Whatcha think?”
Journee looked over at him after telling the taxi where to head. She scooted a little closer to him, and put her head on his shoulder.
