Katie and the Cupcake Cure by Coco Simon – 3 Stars

This was a very cute, quick read, that I would probably have enjoyed as a child. Katie is starting middle school, and her best friend has become friends with the popular girls over the summer and no longer wants to do anything with Katie. Whilst feeling upset, Katie soon finds a new set of friends, and they start a cupcake club together. This book seems relatable to children and deals with some of the realities of growing up. I can certainly understand its popularity, and I liked that the book included a cupcake recipe at the end.
