Michele | 6349 comments Hello Collective Wisdom -

For books that are part of more than one series, it appears that only one series is displayed underneath the title on the Book Page. The other series are invisible unless you go into the "Edit details" page and scroll down to the series section. So, two questions:

1) How should series info be formatted in the title field in the case of multiple serieses (punctuation, order, etc.)

2) Is there an easier way to see what serieses a book is part of, other than going into the "Edit details" ?

If this is documented somewhere, feel free to just point me to it. I did check the Librarian's Manual page about serieses but didn't find anything (maybe it could/should be added to that page?).

Sandra | 31439 comments On the book page there is a link to the series', no matter how many series a book is part of. So no need to go to the edit page to find the series.

See the book page of Crowbones, the links, below the Edition Language ~ The Others #8, The World of the Others #3 are listed in the green links. The book page greyed out link with the title can only show the first series.

From the edit page ~ Crowbones (The World of the Others #3; The Others #8)

The order of the series is usually the main series, but it can change.

There is a section at the bottom of the Lib Group about requesting Manual changes. You can post there requesting a change.

Michele | 6349 comments Ah, thanks, I missed that!

What about the first part of my question - how to enter the information into the title field?

Miriam | 1831 comments Title (Main series #; Second Series #)

- use a semicolon to separate them
- Typically we use the main series first, but some books will have the series order changed, but not the title field

Keep in mind this won't show on the book page, but will show in other places on Goodreads (series page included)
