Faith’s first big case and the victim is someone she knows. Do you believe that triggered some of her anxieties?

Lynn (ftbooklover) In most circumstances, I don't think a detective with personal knowledge of a victim would be allowed to work the case, but here it does fit because of the size of the town and their department. Her anxieties were definitely triggered because we see her having flashbacks and nightmares.

~Melissa~ | 429 comments I think the last case triggered her anxieties. I don't think it helped that it was someone that she knew but it was what happened in the last book that was impacting her here...along with the fact that her boss wanted her to be the "perfect Barbie Dectective for the department"

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) Don't you mean Stella? I agree with Lynn, she probably wouldn't be able to be lead in a case where the victim was a childhood friend but maybe there wasn't anyone else available. Did she receive any counselling after the incident. Seems she was thrown back into the deep end and wasn't very well supported by the Department.

I can't remember if she received counseling.

Actually, I just read that part. She did the required Department Counselling but thought she had it handled so she didn't continue. She admits to Mac that she probably should have as being a cop and seeing victims was triggering to her with nightmares and anxiety.

Thanks for the clarification. I couldn't remember.
