Kathleen heavey | 5 comments Read this a while ago believe around 2010-2015. believe it was set in a city area. the main character who was a girl was magic and was able to talk to the other main character that was a stray black cat. i think the title possibly started with a M. the cover had a picture of the black cat.

Florence | 683 comments One of the Sabrina the teenage witch series maybe? Was it a talking cat or could she understand cat language? Or was the cat a familiar and she could only understand that one cat?

Becca (beccalikesbooks) | 5545 comments I couldn't find a Google Books preview for Plain Kate, but there is a copy available on archive.org if that helps you confirm or rule out Plain Kate: https://archive.org/details/plainkate...

Please let us know either way! If it's not Plain Kate, it might be on the Forget Meow! Talking Cats in Fiction list.

AquaMoon (aqua_moon) | 12 comments A long shot, but maybe Cat Girl's Day Off? In it the main character can talk to cats and it was set in a city. (view spoiler)
