Read in middle school, around 2017. Takes place in 1920’s or 30’s Two kids meet over the summer, while one of the kid’s dad is away at war. The kids use a film camera to make a silent movie together.

Towards the end of the book, the dad comes back from war, injured. The kids shows him the movie they filmed and ended up putting him in one of the scenes at the end. At the very end of the book, the kids showed the film to their whole family, with the mom playing the “score” of the film on the piano, since it was a silent movie.
