Anya Zaytseva | 2 comments This is a graphic novel / manga coffee-table type book. It's got a four letter title that I believe was referring to a Japanese practice of doing many first drafts, maybe.

I don't know the exact publication date but I saw it in a bookstore last year so I imagine it's really recent.

Much love,

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments It looks like a manga rough draft is called, "Name."
Was this book a nonfiction? If not, what was the plot of the book?

Anya Zaytseva | 2 comments It's more of a nonfiction than a fiction. It has no plot.

The book begins with an introduction that describes the author's technique of coming up with new cartoony characters and inking them wihout worrying about detail or doing revisions.

The next hundred or so pages until the end are each an independent character draft, with no relation to each other. You could flip to a random page and find four panels featuring a talking rock named "Stress", with the author having drawn Stress in four different situations that that hypothetical character might take in a hypothetical story.
