After leading all night, the Dees couldn't hang on in the final quarter. And it's Suzy who's our winner - her tip of the Pies by 7 points was spot on. She wins $7.00 for Friends With Dignity.
Good lord......that's 11 straight wins for the pies now, and almost all of them by a kick or less. It's going to be Cats v Pies for the GF, me thinks.

In in the third quarter the Saints looked like they might pip the Lions, but the importance of finishing in the top four must have got through to the Lions in the final quarter. Tim's tip of the Lions by 15 was spot on so he earns $7.00 for the Koala Hospital at Port Macquarie. Well done!

What a game at the MCG tonight. From tipping it was good but from a Swans fan really wanted the Blues to get up. A great game though with what, 11 lead changes at least
Unfortunately I didn't see any of it but was very surprised when I saw the result and read that Melbourne won with a last minute goal. I'm hoping the Swans thump Collingwood tomorrow and cement their top four spot. I can't forgive the Pies for that goal after the siren against Essendon and their tinny bum win over the Dees last week.
I have no idea either. I cannot imagine how they spent four and a half hours debating it at the appeal.Very nervous ahead of this afternoon. Biggest game at the SCG in years

Well, didn't we all do well this week? But I did best of all! For a change. Next week is the last week of the home and away games. If my maths is correct, it is still possible for anyone in the top 8 to win the overall prize. But, remember, for those that are willing, I encourage (and reward) the best tipsters right up to the Grand Final, and you won't have to lift a finger to earn more dollars if your team supplies ome of the individual winners of the Brownlow, Coleman and Rising Star medals. So I hope you stick around for the ride.

Thanks Tech I am getting confused but now understand our league finishes this weekend. That clarifies it. I may need to revisit my tips then as took a couple of gambles thinking I could bring it back during the finals! But thats not in the spirit of it so will leave as is. Maybe the Crows will beat Port in derby but affter Ports result last week its hard to see.
Tim wrote: "Thanks Tech I am getting confused but now understand our league finishes this weekend. That clarifies it. After next week, there will be places for finishing first, second and third plus the wooden spoon and all will get money for their charity. After that, for anyone who wants to carry on, there is a charity donation for the best tipster in each of the four weeks of the Finals. There is also a donation should your team supply the winner of the Brownlow (best & fairest), Coleman (leading goal scorer) and Rising Star (best first year recruit). And after all that, I'll give a breakdown of who won what over the season.
Tim - you are welcome to change your tips up until the start of any game(s) affected. Just post to say that you have done so. It's going to be a tight finish!
Thanks Val but I will stick with what picked first. It has been great fun and thank you for welcoming a newby. Now living in Melbourne the footy has become an even bigger part of my life. Although supported Swans in Sydney for 10 years the game was just not such a big deal compared to NRL which I cannot stand being a Union follower. You just get caught up in it here and end up watching way too many games.
I think that's why so many players like Sydney - they're out of the goldfish bowl. Melbourne life does tend to revolve around the footy. I was a new migrant here in 1976 and couldn't make head nor tail of the game but at work, well, you just had to be part of the tipping comp and that's how I came to support Essendon. They were pretty mediocre back then (much as they are now) but I could usually have them as a banker for a loss. I liked their reliability. I miss the days when every home or business declared their allegiance in the Grand Final with streamers and balloons. And I think we'll all be relieved when Alistair Clarkson declares his hand and tells us who he'll be coaching next year (my money's still on North). We are a divided family: Mr H "supports" North (i.e. there's much swearing and grinding of teeth) - he now finds watching the Storm is more conducive to his blood pressure. My son deserted Fitzroy when they folded and came over to Essendon. Daughter No. 1 has always been a Cats fan and Daughter No. 2 deserted Essendon when she married a dyed in the wool Bulldogs supporter. She even got Brad Johnson to provide a video to wish them well at her wedding. I'll just keep on waiting for the tide to turn at Essendon - it's only been 22 years since their last premiership!
