YA Contemporary Fiction (it might have been based on a true story I don't remember) - students in a school who petition to get their teacher back after the teacher gets fired by the PTO/Administration because they have AIDS. It might have been their math teacher but I don't remember exactly. I read it in 3rd or 4th grade (maybe around 1997-99) but it was a chapter book.
