I wanted to love this book. If you look at the reviews, there are so many who love this book (including our own Book Concierge :-) ). And the author is a Minnesotan (I'm always a little partial to MN authors.) The themes of the story - heroism, light and darkness, forgiveness and more - are so meaningful. And the writing is beautiful.

But ... while I recognize all of that and saw it in the story.... I was not enchanted by the story. I just didn't feel the magic.

So I've put it on my to-read again someday list. Maybe at another time in my life I'll feel differently.
