I love cooking and feeding people and that does show up in a lot of books. The most surprising has been in Jessie Mihalik's sci-fi romance Hunt the Stars. There's space lasagna, space curry, and an alien charcuterie board. Tavi uses food and group meal times to build camaraderie between her crew and the formerly enemy squan they must work with. The second book in the series, Eclipse the Moon, out in July, also uses food to show caretaking. It made me so happy.

sounds DELICIOUS! I love how Becky Chambers features a lot of cooking in her many books and series as well; care giving, sharing community, showing love, care receiving- it's all great
