What do you read even though you aren't the target audience?

Amalthea started reading Percy Jackson with her son, but soon she was reading Rick Riordan's series on her own, most recently Daughter of the Deep. "The irreverent tone of the narrators, the clever riffs on different mythologies, and emotional stakes – I really enjoy the storytelling, even though I'm way way (way) older than the target audience."

Picture books, middle grade books, YA. I'm an indiscriminate reader. There's no split for me - all books are for all people.

Sometimes poetry written by a POC or a GLBTQ+ story I'll read, but once getting into it, you realize this book was aimed at people with similar backgrounds/situations/etc. But if I take my time & keep an open mind, it can be "for me," too
