hello all! i’m trying to remember this book that i read in late elementary/early middle school (i’m now 22). it was about this girl who was part of an exchange program and went to live with a family in like virgina or something (the dad of the new family was a miner which i why i guessed virginia). i remember the mine that dad worked in had an accident and the girl saw it on the tv at school. also, there was maybe like a big gap between the house and the rest of the town so they had to use like a rickety old bridge to get to the house? any and all suggestions welcome!
