The reader is you. This will be a more logical slot when the mazes are used in a team challenge.

Tricia (books2hooks) | 479 comments Dumb questions - what does MGP mean? How does spell it out work in this maze? I think I'm missing something.

message 111: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5684 comments Mod
MPG is main page genre (i.e. the categories you see on the right side of the book page).

Spell out isn't so relevant. I don't think any of the tasks are spell outs if I remember correctly.

message 112: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12860 comments Nooooooo! I've got a humour MPG task, which would be perfect for a Pratchett, but it needs to be a N-Z and next up is Moving Pictures.

Story of my life :D :D :D

LittleRedRidingHood | 350 comments Ok, dumb question #2: I got mistery as a first task. Do I go and read a mistery, fill the empty spaces and then hit the direction I want to go OR I need to pick direction and read a mistery that corresponds with the direction (lets say south> mistery title that starts with N-Z?)

Oh boy, I'm mentally challenged🙃

There are no dumb questions so please ask away.

Pick a direction and read a book that matches BOTH the direction and the task.

message 115: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8050 comments Are we going by read date? If I started a book just before the challenge started, can I use it, or do you want us to start a new book after each turn?

message 116: by Tricia (new)

Tricia (books2hooks) | 479 comments Do any books read after the start of the challenge count? I typically read 3 books at one time, so just wondering if I get a challenge that is satisfied by a book I've already read, can I count it?

message 117: by Sophie, The other one (new)

Sophie (drsophie) | 5684 comments Mod
You can start the books whenever you like, but their finish/read date has to be after the turn.

I.e I start reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Love in the Time of Cholera on 13/3 and finished them both on 17/3.

On 16/3 I get a task to read a book with MPG classics. I can use Love in The Time Of Cholera for this task.

On 18/3 My task is to read a book with a wizard in it. I can't use Harry Potter as I've already finished it.

Maybe you should try not to be overachiever... Or you know... have pity on those who are still 100 pages in the first book, because RL is acting up :P

(just kidding love. You do you. I'm just cranky because it's SR time again at work and this sprint, it will be a really piece of work)

I actually told myself I wouldn't read as much this year... So naturally I'm currently on track to read more by the end of the year. *sigh*

I shouldn't laugh. Specially because although i have a ton of YA on my read list or bookshelf, I'd probably struggle a bit at the moment with it.

Not just YA. YA from a specific list. and with a N-Z title. that maze is already having way too much fun at my expense, lol.

Currently scouring said list for non-YA books erroneously tagged, lol.

message 128: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Actually, no. Juvenile can be closer to middle grade and YA closer to NA.

message 129: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments But, since Sammy needing to read a YA, is worse than me having to read a *shudders* Classic, I'll stay put.

The mazes are being unpleasant to you with tasks. Hopefully your next ones will be more to your liking.

I used to enjoy YA but have been avoiding it for a while now.

Haha, finally misshelved books are working in our favour ! ;)

And agree with Sonia. Would rather have MG, for some kind of reason it works better for me.

I recently read a couple of YA new releases. You're not missing much in my opinion.

message 134: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12860 comments I found 4 on the list I wouldn't mind reading, but all had titles starting in the first half of the alphabet, so had to go back and look again. Eventually I found one mis-tagged, which I want to read, though it's probably going to have to wait until April for Uno reasons. So plenty of catch-up time for Sonia, lol.

Not actually on the list!

There are a few I've read (most of which aren't YA, lol), but for the most part, these are the books I run from!

message 141: by Viji (new)

Viji | 389 comments My first task is as follows:

Task: Read a book that starts with the letter L

Direction: South (Title starts with N-Z)

How do I proceed? Do I read a book that starts with the letter L and another one with a title that starts with any letter between n and Z? If so, where do I post the two books as there is space for posting only one book.

Help needed. Thanks.

Oh yes, that's a good idea actually! Sammy, if you haven't read that one yet, I'd recommend it. Not your romantic sobbing YA love triangle mess. Actually a lovely read.

message 143: by Alysa (new)

Alysa H. | 3840 comments I made a huge list of possible books that fit my first task!
I love it: a best fantasy Listopia task, titles N-Z.

But... I have other stuff to finish before I can start, argh.
I am still trying to finish another challenge that I am already behind on.

Instead of the title being L for the task, for now can you read a book where the author’s last name starts with L.

The same goes for anyone else who has this issue. If you get a task for a page number that ends so it is impossible to go East or West, then read a book that is that number in a series or has the number in the title.

That sounds like a much better task! Good luck catching up with other challenges so you can get going.

message 146: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12860 comments I've added Wonder to the 'to be acquired' list. At least that would only be a blue cover. They seem easier to come by than yellow ones! lol.

MCs who are neighbors - Title N to Z

Apparently I don't like books where people are neighbors.

Yikes! I don't think I've ever read one of those, unless you count classics where people socialise with people from neighbouring estates. Generally they are neighbours only in a very broad sense of the word, lol.

message 149: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4248 comments I can only think of books that are romance or childrens that would work for neighbors.

When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole - this book works perfectly :)
