SOLVED. Children's Historical Mystery series - If I remember correctly, each book is set during a different U.S. Presidency. They were written for younger girls. [s]

There are at least 3 books in the series, and they are chapter books. I read them in the early 2000s. One of them was set during Thomas Jefferson's Presidency. All of the covers were white/ivory/cream, but each had a different picture of a girl on it (not portraits). I'm pretty sure they are not American Girl mysteries.
