A Winter of Chains, the 3rd book in my fantasy series is coming out this June. Prior to its release, I'm looking for some early reviews and back cover blurbs. That's right, you could get your name on the back of a, dare I say, a fairly decent book.
Right now I can only offer a pdf for reading. However, if you read and review the book, and/or something you write about it is back cover quotable, by the May 1st deadline, I'll gratefully mail you a signed copy of the paperback when it comes out.
It's low-magic, somewhat Conan-esque (maybe not so barbarian-ish), and about 150k long. Although it is an ongoing story, you don't have to have read the previous two books to understand this one. The little background needed is provided to carry on the story for the new reader. Here's the back cover summary:
What could make a newly freed man risk recapture?
Unjustly imprisoned upon a desolate island, Ford Barlow desires freedom more than anything. His second wish would be to enact vengeance upon a certain pesky priest. After finally getting off the island, he and his friends soon find themselves wallowing deep in the heart of Dargkivi, a remote underground slave city where a dwarfish race of greedy sadists toy with the lives of their captives.
Escape is elusive. Attempt after attempt leads Ford deeper into danger. He struggles through caves, mines, sea and arena battles, and the ruins of a lost city where blood-thirsty creatures lurk in the hidden crevasses of the icy wilds. When a golden opportunity to escape does come along, a revealed truth and a purpose greater than himself changes everything.
