This may be part of a series. Not sure if truly alien romance or more of on a different world. Seems like the heroine is slowly realizing that she may be older than she realizes. I think there was some type of war hundreds of years ago and she may have either been severely hurt or some type of sleep. Seems like that was revealed as the series progressed. I know there was a group of people who visited a historical site that revealed an unknown chamber. She was able to understand the symbols and open the chamber. I think at one point remains from a different faction was found that would give them rights to the site. When the chamber was discovered, I think she activated some type of portal where she and several other disappeared. They were being chased by some type of animal and the computer helped open another room or chamber. They found their way out and back to the group that thought they had died. Some of these details may be out of sequence.

Hi David,

I read over the past year to year and a half. I do not recall anything about the cover. It may have been a kindle unlimited book; however, I have spent the past few days going through all of my returned items and cannot locate.

As far as jobs- it seems like she may have had military expertise that grew as her memory returned (not sure). I cannot remember how she got connected to exploring the site. It was almost as if she may have been connected to some type of scholarly institution; however, I may be wrong on that. It feels like there was some type of scholarly people involved. I know what at one point it was thought some of the other factions bodies had been disturbed and that was a big taboo in that culture.

I finally found when looking for another book. The book is part of a series. I tried to edit the topic to include solved at the top; however, would not save.
