All I can remember is that the society was perfectly utopian where everybody played water polo, the kids dad only made like $1 a year, stuff like that. Then one night, the kid is doing research on the Boston tea party online which is coming up like an actual tea party, then the power flickers, and now the actual info on the real Boston tea party is coming up and the plot goes from there.
