SOLVED. Very old Children's Picture book (like 1940s?) about a little girl facing bullying. [s]

A little girl moves to a new school and meets a group of other little girls that bully her, one important detail is the bullies eat peppermint sticks during recess, I read this book in elementary school, it had black and white sketch illustrations, I remember a specific illustration of the bully eating a peppermint stick, it was in English.

I read/listened to The Hundred Dresses, unfortunately that’s not it, and now I remember it was like a little golden book with realistic pictures of the little girls

Molly's Pilgrim has bullies and peppermint sticks being eaten at recess, but it was first pubbed in 1983.



The original illustrations by Michael J. Deraney show a mean girl eating a peppermint stick. There's a read aloud of this edition on YouTube.
