Had a super busy day yesterday and most of today, so I haven't had much of a chance to read anything. But I have the rest of the weekend free, so hope to get at least 2 more books read.

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I usually get a lot more reading done during read-a-thons, but I’ve had a rough week. I definitely am going to try my best to finish Grin and Beard it today though! I should most definitely finish listening to Medical Apartheid before the weekend is over from there. I can’t promise anything else but I’ll see how the weekend goes.

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I usually do better than this at reading during the week. I can probably get a chunk done tonight and finish up Speak tomorrow. I really hope I can finish The Hypnotist's Love Story by the end of the weekend. I need to complete the winter challenge!

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Long day today but just finished 112 pages of The Paris Wife. I'll read some more but probably will fall asleep before I get much more done. Might (?) be able to finish it up in the morning - if not then it'll be done by tomorrow night. I can start Remarkable Creatures after that to try for another Madeline but it might just end up counting for sprinkles. We'll see how the weekend goes- my girls will be home so it'll probably be more busy here than last weekend.

Kathy E | 3333 comments I should be able to finish Love Among the Chickens Love Among the Chickens by P.G. Wodehouse tomorrow, for either yellow cover or shells on cover (eggshells).

Also hope to finish by Sunday, The Fallen Stones: Chasing Blue Butterflies, Mayan Secrets, and Happily Ever After in Belize. It fits several prompts.

Happy reading, Everyone!

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Ohhhh shells on the cover will finish up another madeline, Kathy :-)

I'm still up reading- got over tired. Restless legs kicked in.

Sarah | 215 comments I believe I should be able to finish one more book so I've started Homegoing for a book with a yellow cover!

message 58: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I completed Speak. I'll update the spreadsheet and see where we should put it. I'm hoping to get one more book in.

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Finished The Paris Wife for set in France, and Measuring Up which I'll find a place for on the spreadsheet ( it works for a bunch). Also some sprinkles- 30 minutes of audio and a 48 page short story for the individual challenge. Haven't decided what to read for tomorrow yet.

Kathy E | 3333 comments Lots of family things going on here. Will finish my 2 books tomorrow.

message 61: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I'm actually making good time on reading Gods of Jade and Shadow so I'm hoping to get that finished today. I will also most definitely finish listening to Medical Apartheid: The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present while I'm cleaning this afternoon, I have less than 2 hours left.

message 62: by Tracy (last edited Feb 27, 2022 03:55PM) (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments Finished Barefoot Gen, Volume 1 (Barefoot Gen, #1) by Keiji Nakazawa for a book with red on the cover- Now I'm crying. That'll be all I finish for prompts but I may get some more sprinkles before we finish up.

message 63: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3333 comments I just finished Love Among the Chickens Love Among the Chickens by P.G. Wodehouse which has eggshells on the cover. So we've just finished our second Madeleine.

Kathy E | 3333 comments I've started an audio of The Sour Lemon Score for a book with a flavor word in the title.

Also will be able to finish The Fallen Stones: Chasing Blue Butterflies, Mayan Secrets, and Happily Ever After in Belize, which will fill the newest book by an author you've already read.

message 65: by Meghan (new)

Meghan Chiasson | 74 comments The last two days were a little hectic. I am hoping to finish up the Charm Offensive and The Blind Contessa, which would finish out the 2nd cannoli and mini rolls.

I am sad to see this read-a-thon come to a close. It always gets me motivated to read more.

message 66: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I don't think I'll be able to completeThe Hypnotist's Love Story but I'm still trying. Got a lot of chores done today.

message 67: by Ana (new)

Ana | 53 comments I just finished The Sweet Taste of Murder and put it in for the flavor prompt, but it could maybe be moved to the circle prompt. Next I'm reading something set in Italy.

message 68: by Tracy (last edited Feb 27, 2022 04:05PM) (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments I finished Barefoot Gen, Volume 2 and put it under featuring an important meal, since the poor kid walks all across Hiroshima to get rice for his mother and sister to eat.

Working on the third one now. Do we collectively feel like the eyeball on this cover counts as a circle? (I do *shrug*)
Barefoot Gen, Volume 3 by Keiji Nakazawa

Lots of my books fit more than one place so if anyone finishes anything up tonight and needs to rearrange cells leave a post. We got a lot done!! Way to go everyone :-)

message 69: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3333 comments Finished my two books from message 64 above. I put The Sour Lemon Score as a book set somewhere I'd like to visit. We've finished another Focaccia.

Tracy, I'd say that eyeball counts as a circle.

message 70: by Ana (new)

Ana | 53 comments I finished Death at La Fenice for a book set in Italy, so that's a second Cannolis finished.

message 71: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 478 comments I did finish both of the books I wanted to get done before sleep. Didn’t get to add in for anything else that would make another baked good (unless some others finish some late night reads), but Im happy to have finished them. Definitely wouldn’t have gotten all three of those in without the read a thon to push me.

message 72: by Joan (new)

Joan Barnett | 1972 comments I put in my final read total. I didn't finish anything else. My page total is usually around 1,000 for a read a thon so this one was low for me. I wasn't able to complete the winter challenge either. Assuming I can finish The Hypnotist's Love Story today, I'll still have one book left and that won't be able to be completed today.

I had fun with you all!

message 73: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3333 comments Great reading, Everybody! It was fun.
