Absolutely Need to Discuss That Ending

I cackled because it was so unexpected and then screamed. Rhys is my absolute love and I really hope they play a decent part in the next book rather than a temporary thing. Perhaps Bryce can't get Hel to help, she'll have the Night Court saving her and Hunt's ass's.

I saw somewhere that someone said they think that ACOTAR characters would get crushed in Bryce's world, I don't agree, Rhys and Feyre alone are more powerful than anyone they've described in Midegard

While the ending was definitely shock worthy, I think I'm still in a state of relief that Hunt is Bryce's mate. Like... I don't know what I would have done if Hunt pulled a Tamlin. But I'm also worried about how Regilus has made Hunt's halo of enslavement somehow worse? Like, what kind of worse are we talking here? Is he just not going to be able to use his powers or will all his will be removed, like he can't feel anything and every decision is made by the Asteri or whoever holds his reigns? I'm really worried about.

Anyway, bring on the ACOTAR characters! I mean, they were strong enough to defeat the Asteri 15,000 years ago and I'm pretty sure Rhys and Feyre are stronger than 99% of the characters in Crescent City.

Just finished it yesterday after marathoning like the last 200-ish pages. Full disclosure: I don't love this series, but HELL YES to SJM bringing ACTOAR and CC worlds together, confirming the multiverse theory she hinted at in Kingdom of Ash! My biggest speculation is that based on the tiny amount of information we've been given, I'm wondering if Amren was an Asteri or archangel, or a slave of an Asteri or archangel (like Hunt was to Sandriel) and Prythian is the Fae world rich in magic that defeated and kicked out the Asteri that Rigelus wanted Bryce to travel to. My theory is that Amren was present when the Asteri tried to take over Prythian and managed to stay when they retreated. Ooooh, with the crossover, do you think we'll finally get more information on Amren's history?

I'm so excited that we've got a definitive crossover now rather than that kinda hint of one in TOG! I can't wait to read the next book when it finally comes out and I'm loving seeing everyone's theories about what's gonna happen next. I'm already preparing myself for the pain of Hunt and Bryce not being together for at least 400 pages, especially as those evil Asteri are going to hurt my baby Hunt.

Yes!! It was absolutely insane! The last like 80 pages were a straight rollercoaster! The cliffhanger is literally physically painful! Like how am I supposed to wait for the next book!!!!

I did the same thing. Especially because SJM has a habit of scaring the crud out of me with her twists. And boy did my jaw DROP. What's so great is that it didn't feel forced. It really felt connected to the story. Very glad to see this connection!

The book hinted to Hunt being something greater than an angel (a God maybe? from the People living on this planet before the Asteri?) so maybe he'll prove to have stronger powers than the halo/the Asteri? Maybe once he realises his true nature, he'll be able to "unlock" his powers? Idk but I think the statue resembling Hunt in the beginning, the bloundhound smelling him and saying he does not smell like an angel, his mysterious name (Orion) and family, etc. are hints that Hunt is something greater than an angel...?

I hope we won't wait for 400 pages until Bryce and Hunt are reunited. I barely recovered from Aelin and Rowan being separated while she was being tortured in the box so Hunt and Bryce better be back together quickly or my heart just won't take it

Well wasn't there mention that he is connected to Hel and the demons in some sort of way, and that is why he is the best at tracking and hunting down demons

I just finished it and AH in screaming. A thought; Amren is from another world and was insanely powerful (before becoming a Fae of course)….what if that’s the same world the Asteri came from?? And the rip in her world that she escaped from was from the Asteri when they were going to other worlds and whatnot!

Am i the only one not a fan of Hunt? Like, he's not really challenging her or making her better in any way, other than the power-up. I always hoped she would go to Hel, find Aidas and it somehow turned out that the "mate-ship" she had with Hunt was... I don't know... Not.

And omg, truthteller + starsword?!?!?!? "When knife and sword are reunited, so shall our people be" AND WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Will Bryce and Az join forces? They do not seem like the ideal match tbh, but will Az give it away? Seems unlikely

I really wonder what Az's reaction will be when he finds out that there's a lot more Shadowsingers that he thought. I really want him to compare powers with Ruhn

yes, exactly, and I feel like with Aelin/Rowan and Feyre/Rhysand there was always a soul deep connection which I don't feel about Bryce/Hunt and also a sort of animal instinct of protection which I definitely don't see in their relationship (like in the 1st book I felt it on her side but not his...) idk if I'm making myself clear but yeah, I feel like there is something missing :/

okay so i read the crescent city series before i read acotar, so when i finished house of sky and breath i was literally so confused about this other world that bryce ended up in. come to find out after reading the acotar series bryce meets rhysand?! my mind is blown!!!

Yeah i finished it like 3 hours ago and I couldn't stop crying. UGLY TEARS VERY VERY UGLY TEARS. Oh poor Hunt and Baxian(dummy) and RUHNNN. Does anyone think that Ruhn and Rhysand(the great and handsome) could be related? Because bryce did say that they looked alike. Ughhhh Sarahhh put us out of our misery damn ittttttttttt!!

I am so happy other people are freaking out about this ending! It’s much too late and i stayed up finishing the book and O. M. G. I started speed reading out of excitement and had to go back and reread character descriptions to pin point who was who when they were talking to and interacting with Bryce. I am just absolutely floored and excited. Also I’m really enjoying a lot of these theories!!! I think Amren being a Thunderbird makes so much sense because she traded who she was to remain safe since the Asteri have been hunting down Thunderbirds. I also would like a better mate for Bryce. Hunt is nice. … that’s is all. Maybe once he gets past being so scarred and broken (poor guy all he’s been through) he’ll be her proper match. But all I have left in my brain now is “omgomgomg.” How am i supposed to go to sleep now?!

So I am absolutely destroyed. Crying, puking, and screaming. Ruhn is my baby and I stg if they hurt him I'm going to cry. Hunt's pain of losing Bryce and him becoming a slave again stabbed me in the back, Sarah J Maas should've just killed me instead (she did Hunt so dirty). Ithan can't catch a damn break. Cormac's death pulled out my intestines. Also imagining Declan and Flynn watching everything go down pains me to the extreme. This book left me on such a cliff hanger I will not be mentally well until the third book comes out.

I haven't read ACOTAR yet so my surprise wasn't as big as y'alls, but I am starting it now. Y'all please let me know who to not fall in love with or trust because I can't take the pain anymore. I already know ACOTAR is going to destroy the rest of my soul and I'm not ready.

I love Rhys and Rhun as well, but also have a really good connection with Hunt, he deserves some love bless him.. and I do believe him and Bryce to be mates, but like someone mentioned here,maybe he hasn’t come 100% into his power yet, being a slave for so many years and so young when he was first made one. New to the ACOTAR and CC world and haven’t read TOG yet… but damn! Need to discuss that ending! Anyone have a sense of WHEN Bryce lands in Velaris? I’m confused about the timeline… do you think it coincides with the events post Silver Flames? I’m going back to ACOTAR to find references about Amren, the prison and the first wars. I don’t think Amren is an Asteri because she would have needed First Light to survive. Her thirst for blood points her to something else. I think those kept in the prison passed through the gates/ rift or were taken by the Asteri and left in the prison when the Asteri lost. Rhys, Ruhn, Cormac and Bryce are definitely related… but I think Azriel is too! So many characters and history to keep track of. Excited to explore this world further and can’t wait for the next books!! Ithan is definitely mated to that mystic alpha and Sabine is going to get hers!
