I'm pretty sure this is a series, but it could be just one book. One book starts with the girl and her father in their apartment in a city, and she is annoyed about their neighbor being loud. They somehow end up traveling to maybe late 1800s (?) and meet a family that lives in this big fancy house. At one point, maybe before the time travel, they see a picture of the house with a group of people out front and the picture includes them.

The girl and her dad work together to try to cover up what is happening. At one point they pretend to be thieves working together and the dad tells someone (as sort of a pretend confession, because really he's lying) that his daughter's specialty is to steal keys from people and then make copies of them.
