It was an adventure book. All I remember is that a girl was walking up some creaky, old dusty stairs up to an attic, I think she found a very old locket and then as she was going down the attic stairs, she feel down and hit her head, when she awoke she had apparently "thrown herself in front of a carriage". She now finds herself in 1800s or 1900s (?). There was a posh woman in the carriage who takes her in as a maid, and then there was a stable boy who helps her out.
