Alas, she was just attending. The presenter was excellent although I generally roll my eyes when it comes to the subject....carriages.

I am getting some notifications. Some come a day or two late.

Chelsea (crystal_dark) | 106 comments I haven't gotten any in a few days either.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) I haven’t gotten most notifications for more than a year now! Lately I’ve been getting them in little vomits—this afternoon I got about twenty at once, one about a comment that was three years old (!!!), and until this afternoon I hadn’t had any notifications for most of a week. These days I like to make the time every few days to visit as many threads as possible so I can catch up a bit, but I still miss a lot. My daily updates reporting on the activities of people I follow, which restarted about a month ago after a year off, are always about 3 days late.

That was a very enjoyable talk yesterday! I could have quibbled with a thing or two but on the whole very useful. Mine isn’t till April.

wosedwew | 345 comments I got about 35 tonight. Most a day or two old.

Sam H. | 869 comments Yeah, this morning a while bunch came in. I think GR glitched.

But a msg from 3 yrs ago...! Ooweee that takes the cake, lol

CindySR (neyankee) The weekend was dead air, this morning was a boom in notifications. Too much Amazon money being spent on spaceships and not enough on GR. ā˜¹ļø

message 12: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 869 comments Did Amazon start GR, or was it bought out?

In person or Zoom? JASNA?

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 907 comments I think the Super Bowl took up all the bandwidths over the US and nothing was available for anything else. I didn't get hardly anything on Sunday [nailbitting and hair-pulling withdrawals]. Then, the next day I had over 50 emails waiting for me.

message 15: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 869 comments OHHHH, huh, guess I am completely out of all loops hehehe

but that makes so much sense.

Bought out. I was here when it happened and there was great outrage and lots of account deletions.

message 17: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 869 comments when did that happen? no wonder I saw a fb post talking about how GR is just a marketing tool now.

Here is a good article about it

Sam H. | 869 comments Thank you. That is a good article.
Since I never knew, I figure I am not one of their target audience.
I bought books from the bookdepo even before amazon bought that out too.
It is interesting that the bandwidth slowed down. You would think they'd be ready for it.

Has not been the same since. It use to be for the READERS, now not so much.

message 21: by CindySR (new)

CindySR (neyankee) uh oh, I think notifications have stopped again. I might need to bring back my hashtag! šŸ¤”

message 22: by Sam (new)

Sam H. | 869 comments It is better than it was over the weekend tho!

message 23: by CindySR (new)

CindySR (neyankee) It comes and goes, apparently. First a drought, then a downpour.
