Sam wrote: "Ooh, did she give her talk? how did it go?"Alas, she was just attending. The presenter was excellent although I generally roll my eyes when it comes to the subject....carriages.
Sam wrote: "Either that or no one has been on GR for the past day or two š"I am getting some notifications. Some come a day or two late.
I havenāt gotten most notifications for more than a year now! Lately Iāve been getting them in little vomitsāthis afternoon I got about twenty at once, one about a comment that was three years old (!!!), and until this afternoon I hadnāt had any notifications for most of a week. These days I like to make the time every few days to visit as many threads as possible so I can catch up a bit, but I still miss a lot. My daily updates reporting on the activities of people I follow, which restarted about a month ago after a year off, are always about 3 days late. That was a very enjoyable talk yesterday! I could have quibbled with a thing or two but on the whole very useful. Mine isnāt till April.
Yeah, this morning a while bunch came in. I think GR glitched. But a msg from 3 yrs ago...! Ooweee that takes the cake, lol
The weekend was dead air, this morning was a boom in notifications. Too much Amazon money being spent on spaceships and not enough on GR. ā¹ļø

I think the Super Bowl took up all the bandwidths over the US and nothing was available for anything else. I didn't get hardly anything on Sunday [nailbitting and hair-pulling withdrawals]. Then, the next day I had over 50 emails waiting for me.
Sam wrote: "Did Amazon start GR, or was it bought out?"Bought out. I was here when it happened and there was great outrage and lots of account deletions.
Sam wrote: "when did that happen? no wonder I saw a fb post talking about how GR is just a marketing tool now."Here is a good article about it

Thank you. That is a good article.Since I never knew, I figure I am not one of their target audience.
I bought books from the bookdepo even before amazon bought that out too.
It is interesting that the bandwidth slowed down. You would think they'd be ready for it.

Has not been the same since. It use to be for the READERS, now not so much.
