Lola, one of the other trafficked teens in Las Vegas, helped Mick find Jewel when he was chasing her. Why?

Lynn (ftbooklover) I'm sure that by that point, she had been trained. Anything that she did to help Mick would keep her from being the center of his wrath, putting his negative attentions on someone else.

~Melissa~ | 429 comments I felt like all the girls had the mentality of just looking out for themselves. If she helped Jewel escape - Lola would've gotten more wrath from the men.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Yes, sadly it was only survival mode for the one who was never going to try to escape. It was difficult, in hindsight, to blame her.

These poor girls. They pay a price for looking out for one another. It was pure self preservation.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) The author rationalised it well. She was so far down the rabbit hole of abuse and misery that anything or anyone that got in her way of her own survival was collateral damage.
