Tom Mahon | 1 comments In the late 70's when I studied English Lit we had a visit by some of the Liverpool school of poets. I think it was Roger who told the story about a time he attended a lecture about the Liverpool poets (not as a featured guest) and the lecturer was talking about a poem that included a line about writing on clouds.
The lecturer concluded that the writing on clouds represented something or other. Roger said that the author was writing on clouds. The lecturer explained in detail why the author was not writing on clouds and went into great detail as to why. He let the lecturer give his explanation at length then went on to say that he was the poet and he had been on an airplane and was writing on stationery from the airline that did indeed have clouds printed.

Can anyone remember the poem or the book of poems it appears in.

Thanks.

So you think this might be a Poetry Anthology? (You might consider adding that info to your Header. Can edit from desktop site, or desktop version on mobile site).
Perhaps it's been added by another user to this list?
