There is a short story in a children’s literature textbook about an older man, perhaps a grandfather, and a young boy trying to save an injured hummingbird. The lesson in the story is that if you help one, you help them all. I believe the textbook was published in the 80’s or 90’s and 90’s and was either for middle school or high school students. Do any of you remember a story like that? Thank you.
